Eight Thumbs Up!. Four of us dined at Cafe Munir last night after multiple recommendations from friends. The Lebonese food was varied and delicious and the dining style was many small plates complemented by some shared entrees. The lamb and chicken kabobs were perfect as were the many plates–my favorite being the outrageously good baba ghanoush. And the prices were very reasonable. We all agreed that we’d become regulars.
Great Food!. Having had little experience with Lebanese or other Middle Eastern cooking, but intrigued by the flavors I suggested we go here for my husband’s birthday. Our kids (14 and 18) went along reluctantly. I have to say everyone gave Cafe Munir a two thumbs up rating! We had a variety of hot and cold dishes, chicken and beef skewers as well as Kosheri (a rice. lentil and caramelized onion dish). We split these among the four of us and were stuffed! The marinated meat skewers were delicious along with the garlic and yogurt (tzaziki) sauces. We were having dessert at home so passed on dessert tonight but we will try something next time. We would highly recommend this restaurant!
Inexpensive and so tasty!. This place was so good! We got a bottle of wine, 2 skewer options, and 5 small plates for only $80. So amazing! The beef skewers were wonderful and don’t forget to get the lamb and pine nut topped hummus. We also loved the soft cheese/yogurt dish but would probably not order the extra-spicy dip again (not very spicy, kinda funky flavor). Our server was slightly awkward but really nice and he definitely wanted us to have a great dining experience! Overall, very good~
If you’re in Ballard and you’re hungry, go to Cafe Munir. The food comes out lightning fast and is delicious. The labneh and the pepper dips(?) Are amazing as is the ground lamb kebab.
