I LOVE Chuck’s!. I am fortunate that I can stop by Chuck’s for a growler fill any day of the week. I think he has 23 taps now (need a nitro tap, though!) I’m amazed that his choices are so well-balanced and thoughtful, whether you’re a hop lover, or someone with a sensitive palate who needs things dark and malty. And don’t get me started on the huge selection of 22oz or canned NW microbrews, it is immense and amazing. But one of my favorite things to do is meet with a few of my girlfriends for a pint or two. It’s relaxing to sit beside the reach-ins, having a conversation, and idly watching people come in and make their choices. Other convenience stores should think about doing the same thing, but whether they do or not, I’m thankful that Chuck’s is nearby.
Chuck is a beer king. I was talked into checking out this convenience/beer store, despite adamantly wondering why it would ever be necessary to go that far. I stood corrected. This place houses more types of beer in a single store than I’ve ever seen. But even more delightfully, Chuck himself is absurdly friendly and endlessly knowledgeable. Last time I was there he was up to 10+ taps, and making room for more. He hosts tastings and is more than happy to chat it up. It really is a beer heaven.
