Embarrassing. The food was embarrassingly terrible… I have never seen such an embarrassment in cuisine in my life.Every dish had large chunks of steamed broccoli, bell pepper, and potato… EVERY DISH!Pad Thai: had a huge chunk of potato in it… Who the hell puts potato in Pad Thai, no less just a single huge chunk… The dish tasted like soft, spongy, peanuts.Fried Rice: The only veggies were the huge chuck of potato that is in every dish, a couple huge chunks of steamed broccoli, and a single large chunk of steamed bell pepper.. The rice wasn’t even fried, it was soggy and sticky.Red Curry: Almost worth not throwing out… almost. Again the huge chunk of veggies that don’t belong in the dish were present, and was the most bland curry I have ever had.The owner/chef clearly doesn’t know how to cook.. I was embarrassed that I bought this terrible of food and wasted $35 on additions to my compost.
I Heart Eddie’s!. Truly a little gem of a Thai restaurant located on Aurora Ave N. You can easily miss it from the road so take the address with you.:) There is a free parking lot in the back.I love Thai food and have tried many a Thai retaurant over the years. I like Thai Food that is not overrun with oil so if you are the same then you will love Eddie’s. I always start with Spring Rolls and Crab Wontons, both are handmade to order and light fare. The Beef Panang Curry is our favortie, it is unlike any other panang we have had and I can say it is my favorite. The Ginger Chicken and Cashew Chicken is also superb! Even there Thai iced tea is so refreshing and not over sweet. For your Phad Thai, be aware that the chef does not add the stars, rather they prefer that you add your own to your own taste…so ask for the chili pepper paste and add away on your spice. They also do not use MSG.The restaurant is a small quaint place, very clean and warm and cozy feeling. The prices may run $1-2 more per dish than some other Thai restaurants, but trust me it is worth it just for the good food you will receive and how good you will feel afterwards.:)Eddies is open for lunch and dinner and they also have delivery now.
Excellent food, great service and affordable prices. What a great combination!
AWESOME!. I went for lunch for the first time. The place from the outside doesn’t look very inviting but once you open the door the experience is completely the opposite.I was warmly welcomed and invited to my table. The place is very nice, roomy, clean and warmly decorated. The menu very straight forward and I loved how the menu has a short explanation of what the restaurant is about.I have to say that due to the price (only $6.95 for a lunch special), my expectations were not very high. When chef Eddie brought the plate to my table, it was a very refreshing surprise!Nicely presented and what a delicious meal. The veggies and the chicken were perfectly cooked. The curry sauce was very creamy, the level of spice was perfect and the hints of coconut were delicious. What a great dish.Great service, great food, great price.Awesome value!!5 stars in my book. Thanks chef Eddie!I can not wait to share this place with my wife, friends and family!Next time I will try the famous tamarind fish dish….
I love Eddie’s!. This place is a gem! I only wish I had found it sooner. I have been ordering thai food from several places around Ballard but have never really been thrilled with them. I found Eddie’s tonight and was so happy that they deliver to Ballard! The menu is interesting, a lot of variety. They have a low fat section. I decided on the grilled chicken with peanut sauce, non-oil phad thai, and spring rolls. Delivery was faster than I expected and the delivery lady was absolutely adorable and so sweet. First of all, I open the packages and everything looks amazing, bright colored veggies and pretty garnishes and it smells great too. I dive right in. The non-oil phad thai was absolutely delicious, full of veggies, chicken, peanuts, and a great flavor. It certainly did not lack in any flavor. The grilled chicken with spinach in peanut sauce was also delicious. It was topped with fresh, bright red tomato slices, garbanzo beans, and artichoke hearts! So good. The spring rolls were spring rolls. Not special like the other two dishes but they were tasty. The make a halibut with brown rice, veggies, and tamarind sauce. I don’t usually order fish the first time I try a place but I can’t wait to order it next time. This will be my go to place for thai’ish delivery from now on.
