My favorite lunch spot in N. Seattle. It’s like the Mexican I grew up with in California. Family owned for 15+ years, friendly and personable staff, authentic atmosphere and fantastically appropriate Mexican fare. The home made tortilla chips and thin salsa are tasty. If you are looking for affordable and authentic with a friendly vibe, this is the place.
Hmmm. Bad night?. Living in the neighborhood, we’ve gone past this easily-missed storefront for years but finally got to try it recently. Maybe it was an off-night, but nothing really tasted very good. The weekend-only posole was so-so. Although the various tacos were good, chile relleno was a bit soggy. I might try it again (the little family-run place has a definite appeal), but with other great Mexican food nearby, I would really need a reason.
Give this a try, you’ll like it. This also is a diamond in the rough. non-pretensious as all get out, and the food is GREAT. it’s mexican food for mexicans. if you like that crapy local chain that’s all around seattle, you probably won’t care for this place. they also have beer and margaritas which are quite good. go. you’ll thank me later.
