Fallen out of love. I fell in love with Naked City years ago over a local pint and some pickled hop shoots. It’s not in our neighborhood, but we’d pop in when we could. The atmosphere is nice, there’s great events, a nice big space where kids aren’t allowed, and some good in-house brews. The last four or five times though the food has been mediocre at best and tonight it was downright rotten.I love reubens, they’re hard to muck up and even a mediocre one is still pretty tasty. This one was so full of fat and connective tissue I spent more time pulling chunks from my mouth (in public, like classy broads do) than I spent actually eating the sandwich [photo redacted]. I gave up half way through, and I *hate* wasting food. The salad dressing was… not good. Not sure what it was trying to be, but I know what it wasn’t. Good. In all, the positives of beer and atmosphere don’t outweigh the awful food. If I’m in the area and only want a beer or pickled veg I might go again. Otherwise, not worth my time.

I have eaten here with friends several times and was satisfied with the food and service. The last two times I have tried to eat here alone I was completely ignored for so long I just gave up and left. Yesterday I went in sat at a table and waited a bit for a menu. Then went up to the bar where the woman bartender never made eye contact with me and then walked to the end of the counter to have an extended conversation with what appeared to be her friend. . What can I say?!

Don’t Go With Kids or for Good Original House Beer. My wife and I went there with our two young kids for lunch at 1200 on a Sunday. The food options for kids are very limited. We had to wait an hour for our food. The server didn’t even bring out the grilled cheeses for my kids first. Seriously? An hour for two grilled cheeses, a burger and a salad? This is terrible service even by Seattle standards. They do have an impressive guest draft list, but I sampled two of their own brews: their Duplicity Dubbel and their La Touche du Mal Golden Ale; both were mediocre at best. Very disappointing overall experience.

This place is a home run.. Kid friendly neighborhood brewpub. I’ve never been disappointed with the menu which includes a killer Ruben. The staff is friendly and helpful. The tap list runs deep, delicious and local.
