This place is pretty sweet! Tacos are bomb and bacon-wrapped cheese-stuffed jalapeos- where have you been all my life?! I came here cuz my Prost Tavern friends said Kate works here, but wrong shift. No worries- I’ll be back cuz Robby and Annie took good care care of me!
Great Beer List. The Yard features one of my favorite beer lists in the city, but that’s all I’ll go back there for. We ordered dinner once, and the servings were almost laughably small, overpriced, and not tasty enough to warrant either. There are only a few tables inside, so make sure you get there early or don’t mind standing. The Yard is certainly a warm-weather bar as the outdoor area is larger than the indoor seating, and the false, clear plastic wall that separates the two is pretty drafty. Their solution is a large heater that makes half the room unbearably hot, while the other remains chilly. Go there in the summer, on full stomachs for best results.
Radiant heat panels on the way?. The food was very good, but I was a little chilled by the end of the meal. The heater they have now heats the top of your head, but the rest of you is not warm and it is blowing hot air onto your head… it is also a bit noisy. I heard they are getting radiant heat panels, which should solve many of their ‘outdoor’ issues.
LOVED my orange chipotle salad!! Nice outdoor space to sit in the sunshine. Service was good, and my partner loved his fish tacos!
YUM!. Everything we had was delicious and I loved the coziness. Even in the winter you can sit outside where they have heat lamps and if you sit by the bar outside, they just lift the garage door/window and serve you directly. Love it! I can’t wait to come back in the summer to take advantage of the outdoor seating. It’s called The Yard after all!
