Poor service, not the best food for the $$$. Sadly disappointed. We were a party of 4 for dinner, but you would have thought we were a party of 14….because in a large party you usually don’t get the best of service. Our waiter forgot to tell us the specials(until we asked), did not know the wine I ordered was NOT available by glass, forgot to bring our bread we ordered to the table, and kept trying to remove our drink classes from the table before they were empty! Took forever to get our food and then most of it was not even warm! I had the salmon which was over cooked, which made for an extremely dry meal. This entire experience was so very disappointing and I was embarrassed that I had brought out of town friends to this restaurant.
We went to Clover after hearing how good the food was. We are glad we went. The food was excellent, the staff was prompt, polite and engaging without being over the top. The 4 people in our party each enjoyed our meals, everything was great. The drinks were also great. The drinks from the bar were not weak and not too strong either. This is probably one of Spokanes greatest hidden treasures. You will enjoy your selves, and we will be going back again and again.
Very disappointed. ICK ON EVERY EDIBLE LEVEL. Once again I am convinced Spokanites allow the pretentious pricing dictate their thoughts/reviews. let’s be frank… some people would say dog poo tasted great if a hefty price tag was applied. NOT THIS GIRL! Appetizer, Crab artichoke dip was oily and not near enough for the very over toasted bread (was this to disguise a stale loaf?). Veal, tough and lacked flavor. Tough dry veal?? Yes. Now i know its possible. Rib eye, tough and riddled with grissle– so much so it HAD to be noticed by the cook. Yes, COOK, can’t call anyone a Chef at this point. They also completely forgot the gorgonzola horseradish. And since I voiced my distress over the ribeye we were comp’d desserts. A nice gesture until we received the teeny tiny orange cake and salted Carmel chocolate tarte. The cake was super DRY, like eating cotton balls. And ZERO flavor. The tarte so tiny. I spent hard-earned overtime $$ on this place and best thing were the drinks. And even those were small and pricey. I will NOT give them a 2nd chance due to the prices period. It is sad when u r so excited and entire evening is wasted. I always choose local whenever I want a special night. Very upset when I leave wishing I had chosen Texas Roadhouse instead. Shameful.
Great Place. My experience at Clover was excellent. The food was darn good. Had the fried artichoke hearts with aioli for the appetizer. This was a dish I wouldn’t soon forget. So good! The Veal Saltimbocca was my entree. Mostly because on a fine dining date I found myself wanting to order something I’ve never had before. It was a good quality entree. The pasta seemed hand made and very good but overall I wasn’t in love with my entree. Probably due more to my choice than the quality though. The desserts were decadent and did not disappoint. We shared a few cocktails and all were marvelous. Very high end cocktails perfectly executed. The cocktail menu is geared to feature classis long forgotten quality cocktails of the pre prohibition era masterfully re created by a bar staff trained by a famous bartender/author that did a magnificent job imparting his knowledge and skills to his staff. Overall a fantastic place and I highly recommend!
Bring your ear plugs. Been wanting to try this for a long time and was very disappointed. The hostess was polite but very confused. Our waiter was pleasant, but the food was average, and the noise was terrible. The two of has to lean over our plates to hear each other talk, and my ears were ringing when we left. If you expect great food and a quiet romantic place, then don’t bother. Spent 200 bucks and feel robbed. I ordered the beef Wellington, because I hadn’t seen that anywhere else, and it was bland, no mushrooms, soggy. Came with two Brussel sprouts and a schmear of mashed potatoes for $38! Wife had the ribeye that was over cooked and very speedy too. The beef Wellington I ordered from qvc was way better. Won’t be back
A must try!. I have been telling people about this restaurant ever since my last visit in December and thought I should share my experience with everyone. This is such a unique and lovely place. The drinks are far above anything you’ve ever had anywhere else. The atmosphere is beautiful, comfortable and unpretentious while still classy. Somewhere you are proud to bring someone. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. I listened to them explain some of the quality ingredients. They really seem to care about the restaurant…which is unique in itself these days! Then the food…the selection is suitable for all tastes. All 4 of us in our party were blown away at everything. From the chorizo bites to start us off to the salted caramel tartlet…still thinking about that! It was refreshing to experience for all of us! We’re looking forward to coming again soon.
The best in Spokane. My partner and I have been to some pretty upscale restaurants, and I must say this place tops them all. The ambiance is very warm and inviting. The food is phenomenal. We started off with an AMAZING bloody mary, with blue cheese stuffed olives, a pickled asparagus spear and a very tasty good sized piece of jerky. Delicious. We ordered the Crab, Artichoke dip and it was quite delightful. For dinner, my partner ordered the beef wellington which was cooked to perfection and tasted delicious. I ordered the bacon wrapped stuffed chicken and I must say my taste buds exploded as it hit my mouth. The carrots and the garlic potatoes that came with it were amazing as well. I didn’t want it to end! For dessert we had the salted caramel and chocolate tartlet which didn’t disappoint. Our waiter Cameron was very helpful and prompt, Thank You! My partner and I were quite impressed with this hidden gem. We will definitely be going back!!
