A must try. Just visited Phonthip Style Thai Restaurant on the corner of Frances and Navada. This small (8 tables maybe)secluded resturant was fantastic! Great flavors, plenty of food (I am on the verge of being uncomfortably stuffed), and decent prices. I had the Panang Curry with chicken. Even at a medium spice it had a pleasant burn going down. I will definitely be visiting again. If your ever in the mood for some thai food I suggest checking this place out.
Tops in Thai. This was my second visit to Phonthip and just like the first,I was highly impressed. The rest.is clean and attractive, which is not the case with most Asian places in Spokane. The menu is rather small, but a smaller menu done well is much preferred to a huge menu poorly done. All the dishes were well done and had amazing flavor. In our 2 visits we tried the majority of the items and were impressed with them all. I won’t spend a lot of time on details or specifics with the food. If you like Thai you will really enjoy the quality here. The service was very timely and efficient and the prices were fair and reasonable. Don’t miss this if you are a fan of Thai food. It was well worth the visit. I just wish it was closer to me, so I could be a regular

Best Thai in town. Phonthip has undoubtedly the best Thai food in Spokane. The flavors are miles ahead of a certain local restaurant with Bamboo in the name. Most recently I visited Phonthip with my father, who spent two weeks in Thailand several years ago. We enjoyed two lunch specials, each with jasmine rice, a green salad, and Thai basil chicken, and while he tried the Panang curry, I sampled the chicken green curry. The chicken was tender and savory, nothing like the bland and tough meat I have received at other area Thai restaurants. Both curries were delicious and quite spicy, but with great depth of flavor. Two Thai iced teas were not only creamy and sweet, but served to tame the spiciness that we enjoyed so much.This unassuming, family owned restaurant is filled with helpful staff, wonderful aromas, and great Thai food. I will return time and again.

Pad Thai = Good Thai. My co-worker and I went here based on these US reviews. I had the lunch special of Panang Curry with the Dumplings. My co-worker had their chicken pad thai. The chicken in both of ours was very tender. I would say the flavor was overall very good. Their jasmine rice wasn’t dried out either. We work down towards Gonzaga so were not sure how long it would take to get, so we phoned in our order. Talk about fast, were up to Phonthip and back to work in 30 minutes. I would say this is probably the best place in Spokane.
Was in first time yesterday. Had the Popular Panang curry . First time I have a panang curry dish that had peanut sauce in the dish. It wasn’t bad..just different. Was pretty sweet. Ordered 4 star…spice was good. Would like more Thai basil and hold the peanut sauce. Will be back to try a different curry dish!
