Love Surprises Like This…. Another place you’ve driven by hundreds of times that you’ve never gone in. Why do they all seem to be on Trent Ave? Granted, from the outside it looks like a scroungy, blue collar dive bar in an uber-industrial area. Wrong. It’s a 70’s time-warp diner in a really ugly building, yet their food was a complete surprise. Very well prepared Yankee fare all over the menu. Their over-the-top signature burger was excellent, and all items were enjoyed by the diners at lunch. Some might raise an eyebrow over the prices, but the food justifies their math. Good to see they survived the Green St Bridge project. Crossroads Diner–a decades+ long Spokane landmark a few blocks away–did not. Mostly a senior crowd dining at this joint. Interesting nostalgic ambience, sweet middle-aged servers, and yeah, they probably have a scroungy, blue collar dive bar in the back—and there’s nothing wrong with that…
