The best place near Long Beach for a great gourmet dinner. Local, organic seafood and steak. Local beer and wine. Amazing food. Our go to place whenever we are in town. I forgot to take the pics before we started eating it so there is a little salmon on the steak plate and vice versa
Absolutely a fantastic place! We live here in Long Beach! And the Depot is one our favorite places to eat! If you come for a visit, make sure to stop in for a fabulous dinner! Call and reserve the chef’s table, if you have time! So worth it!

Top Flight Eatery. The very best, and slightly different, French Onion Soup I’ve ever had. Excellent Petrale Sole and pan fried oysters as good as any and better than most. Quaint old out-of- the-way building, probably an old drug store/soda shop or bar, decorated in a most uniquely appropriate style. Make reservations. On a blustery rainy night in the middle of the week in the off season, more than half the tables were filled by 6:30. Don’t make an error by not visiting this special place.
Excellent food. We had an excellent meal with a variety of entres, appetizers and desserts. I can highly recommend the Southern Comfort Pork and the wilted spinach salad. Good mix of flavors. Unfortunately, the service was not up to the level of the food. Food presentation was off most likely due to poor lighting in the kitchen and service area–there were sauce and dressing spills on the rims of the plates. Water glasses were not kept full, and when the ice melted, it was not replaced. They really should provide bread plates since they provide balsamic/oil for the bread.
Ahhhhh, now this is dining! One of my absolute have to go to places when we come to Long Beach. Gourmet food at its finest. Every time we have been here we have had excellent food. Tonight the Thai Calamari was fabulous. I had oysters and hubby had Southern Comfort pork and both were delish! Then I took home the flour less chocolate torte and it was scrumptious! Expensive, yes, but well with it. See ya next time The Depot! Oh yah, and the ambience is so romantic and warm. You can actually hear each other talk.
