I have had there food about 10 times but not by choice. They have a nice room to have parties in like B’days and such but I have learned not get anything but a beer or water. The food is like rolling dice at best. Wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone. Very sad for a building that has potential.

DO NOT GO HERE. We’ve been to this restaurant a couple of times, and it has great ambiance. The landscaping and interior design looks as if a gem of a restaurant lies on the property. HOWEVER the quality of the food does NOT reflect the appearance. I ordered the egg flour soup to go, and the portion was so small there were literally five spoonfuls of soup. On to the mushu chicken. It was supposed to come with a plum sauce, however it came with a sweet and sour sauce instead. The mushu itself was inferior. It tasted terrible. The fried rice was greasy, the shrimp had no taste, and the chow mein left no impression. But I must say, that busboy really was foxy!…NOT
Fabulous. I had the beef fried rice and it was so good. I spilled soy sauce and a foxy bus boy cleaned it up. He came back and brought me water, which was a turn on. He was very handsome. I come back to visit him frequently. The food too though, but come for the babe busboys. He said his name was Mitch and I asked for his number but he declined politely. These boys play hard to get.
Beautiful Building, Great food. The south end of Whidbey Island is small and there aren’t a lot of quality restaurants or Lounges. I have to say that China City is the only exception. The building itself is beautiful, inside and out. With dark, wood features and tasteful, traditional Chinese artwork, dining or drinking at China City feels like your actually at a fancy restaurant, but with more then affordable prices. The food is delicious and tastes fresh, like it was all handmade that day. The lounge side of the restaurant provides the best, if not only, late-night entertainment on the island. The service is friendly and they always look clean and uniformed. I love this place and recommend it to anyone and everyone looking for an affordable and fun night out.
Had a combo dinner as did my wife. Both were yummy. Portion size was not overly generous…..a plus for me. Service was quite good and the prices and atmosphere were super for the island.
