Lovely Place, Fine Food. Had dinner here on sunday evening with my wife. We arrived without a reservation. Although i was at first concerned about their being understaffed, they seated us in a few minute. It seemes smaller than it looks like from outside. The staff was small but very efficient. I had the seafood jumbalaya and a couple of glasses of wine, she had pork cutlets. All were very good, lovely ambience, great view. Definitely will return.

We have eaten at Gordon’s a number of times and have found their food some of the best and most adventuresome on the south end of the island. We visit Whidbey regularly and are always pleased with the service & food that Gordon prepares. Keep up the good work.

Nothing special here. Your on an island in the middle of Pugent Sound and you have steaks, prawns (shrimp), and jambalaya on the menu? Where is the sea food the area is known for? The owners are lucky they are on Whidbey Island, if they were in Sequim they would be out of business.

I’m definitely a foodie, and one of the things I like best about living on Whidbey Island is the generally high caliber of restaurants for such a small place. Gordon’s blew me away. The food was masterfully made and presented, and unlike many high end restaurants, offers satisfying portions. It is absolutely some of the best food not just on the island, but anywhere.

No better on Whidbey Island!. We have had the pleasure of eating at Gordon’s several times. Each and every time it has been just as good as the last. Love the specials, and especially the sturgeon when in season. Gordon certainly knows his way around a steak and seafood! Oh don’t forget about dessert ! If it’s available, the lemon tart is to-die- for, and I don’t even care much for lemon!!!!!!

Amazing. What a great place hidden in Freeland. Great view of the harbor and sunset. We had an amazing meal! Tempura portabelo, local garden salad, pork loin wrapped in bacon with a mushroom demi glaze, banana creme brule. Will go back for any special occasion! Chef Gordon does a great job and was so nice to come out to the dining room to say hello to all the tables.

Usually Good. My husband and I had dinner on a recent Sunday night and were a bit disappointed. We have eaten at Gordon’s many times over the years and expect a well prepared meal. While the chef kindly made an app that was no longer on the menu (which was appreciated) and the service was gracious as always, something was just not right with the chicken marsala. We’ve had it in years past and it has always been a rich brown sauce as it should be. This time it was a pale, non pounded chicken breast with a pale, glooey sauce. No hint of garlic OR marsala. What gives Gordon? Or was someone else cooking on a Sunday eve? Hope next time it’s better. We will try again, then decide if we will go back in the future.
