This is my favorite place to go for breakfast or brunch. I have special dietary needs and the servers are careful to get my order correct. They are polite and the food is cooked the way I like. The atmosphere is homelike and comfortable, quiet and a great place to go with family. It is a kid-friendly and welcoming restaurant. However, I usually go there on weekdays because Saturdays and Sundays, especially Sundays after churches let out, are packed and it is hard to get a table because of the weekend crowds. As a resident, I recommend the Egg & Us highly to support the restaurant for being a local business and for taking out-of-towners there so they can experience an enjoyable meal.
Thsi is a great breakfast place. And it’s open all day. I love going here, the food is excellent. My favorite dish is the Lemon Ricotta Pancakes, the pancakes have a slightly richer taste served with a dollop of whipped lemon ricotta cream that is to die for and fresh berries. Delicious! Yes, sometimes it is incredibly busy but everytime I have gone with my family we have been happy with the food so it is worth the wait.
This place was incredibly busy when I went on a Sunday,which is a good sign. My husband and I both ordered dishes with eggs and had eggshells in our dish. He didn’t say anything, but I just wanted to let the waitresses tell the chef. Obviously it was busy and he was working quickly, but at the same time, I didn’t enjoy crunching on large eggshells.. The waitress was great, took the dish back, and came out with a new one sans eggshells. This time though the eggs were barely cooked and incredibly raw. I just ate around it. I wasnt going to make a fuss with a packed restaurant. The flavor of everything on the plate was great.. I want to try this place again hopefully on a less busy hour or day..
Don’t even bother. Expected something a lot better from the location and price of this restaurant. We were visiting family from out of town and were looking specifically for a local breakfast spot. We were seated promptly, but it took over ten minutes for our drink orders to be taken. Only half of our drinks were brought to us and we had to reorder the other two drinks. They brought out two of our entries together. One of them was completely wrong. They brought us French toast when the order had been for pancakes. We had to wait several minutes for the other two plates to be brought out. The pancakes had a lot of cinnamon in them and we were told that that was the way the batter was made. We could not eat them. They were so heavy with cinnamon that they made the person who ordered them cough. We tried to talk to them about it. They made no effort to compensate or offer something different and we were charged full price even though they were not eaten. Our coffee cups were empty for 30 minutes when finally we asked for refills. The service was extremely lousy. Not one person asked if our meal was ok or if we needed something else. We will not ever return and we have told our family who lives here, not to bother.
This one is a keeper for three reasons: ambience including decor and staff food value, very good quality at a reasonable price menu diversity, even if is all about eggsMy only wish is that they upgrade their biscuits to something more substantial, like a good cream of tarter recipe, using butter for shortening.Oh yes, the brewed coffee is quite good.
Hits the Spot Every Time. For the life of me, I have no idea why anyone marks this place low. We go a couple times a week. Service is ALWAYS fabulous. The facilities are ALWAYS clean. And, most importantly of all, the food is DELICIOUS.It’s simple, made from fantastic ingredients, and always cooked just right, even to request. We love this place. It’s absolutely worth your time if you want a good breakfast/brunch.
Great service but….. I wanted to post a good review and when I asked for the password to the internet I was denied! No free Internet on the weekends! Aside from that the service was excellent and the food came out quickly.
