We’ve experienced something that is new to us, but is apparently business as usual in the Tri-Cities (WA): a Thai buffet. This would be unique in our metro, and something that would be very welcomed. And from what we learned, it’s most every single Thai joint in town. Buffets at both lunch and dinner, as well. Our first crack at one was here at Green Papaya, and it was a grub fest for lunch. It was like you would imagine: not stellar–like ordering fresh off the menu would be–but prepared decently in constant small batches. Definitely a step up from your typical Asian buffets. The thing that won me over was having the ability to eat as many spring rolls with peanut sauce that one could possibly endure. And I did, oh my….yes I did. A nice lady took care of the whole dining area, and was very patient with us asking questions about the entire set-up the whole time. A Thai buffet? Was this a beautiful dream, or did it really happen…?
