Two’s a Charm…. My second Hawaiian BBQ experience was excellent. Of course, it’s not really barbecue as Anglos know it, but it’s not a bad description either. This was a nice Japanese family, who migrated from the Honolulu area and brought their wonderful recipes with them. For the amount of food you get, and the delicious flavors, the prices were stunning. Most plates come large, or as a ‘mini’, which my photo shows. The fantastic beef kalbi I posted was only $6.50, fergoodnessakes. I’m traveling with two younger gals, who did not want to experiment with another cuisine, and the burgers they made here for them were quite large–delicious I’m told–and again ridiculously affordable. Everything was very fresh, and absolutely needed after the disappointing meal I had the night before while traveling. Thanks, folks…
