A decent option in a pinch. A Mexican restaurant right off the main ferry dock. If you get stuck waiting an hour for the outbound ferry or waiting to pick someone up, this is the place you can have a bite and kill some time.Quiet, casual atmosphere with gorgeous views of the water through windows that fill two sides of the place. Prices are a little higher than you’d expect, but consistent with other restaurants on the island. Servers are relaxed and consistent, although it is a family place and you may catch some of the kids playing in a booth or a server taking a cell phone call behind your table.The menu is enormous and available online, but haven’t yet found a dish there I really liked – tried the chimichanga and chicken soup. Food was not too flavorful. Chips are okay. Rice is bland. Beans were not so good. Surprisingly, while most places on the island do not have free WiFi, La Playa does and even has large spacious tables and booths to enjoy it in, so points for that.
