We will keep coming back, and back, and back….. Twice a year over the past 4 years we have been coming down to Freeland from Vancoouver, BC for some rest and relaxation, enjoying the many beach walks and walking trails on Whidbey Island. The Ca’Buni Cafe is part of our daily ‘ritual’ – we come for the atmosphere, the coffee, the fabulous breakfasts and baked goodies, and of course the staff – who have always been warm and welcoming – providing great service. As well, it goes without saying that the Chef’s commitment to serving organic food as well as supporting local Island Farmers and Ranchers should be recognized and loudly applauded. If we had one wish, it would be to open your doors on Sundays too!

Mukleteo Coffee. Food is oddly inconsistent and not the best presentation. I had an awful salmon/cream cheese plate; salmon was too thick, super dry and over the top salty – even for smoked. The owner never returned my 2 phone calls and follow up emails regarding some ideas we talked about.Feels like a little club – clique so not super welcoming if you are not a regular.Coffee is run of the mill – no pun intended. Overall, not a place I give much thought to.Lovely outdoor area to enjoy a beverage though.
