Been trying to wrap my head around island eater? I have NEVER been accused of pretension. We really try to do the opposite. Sorry you felt that way. with the personal nature of the review,I suspect there maybe deeper issues at work. I’m easy to find if you’d like to share with me directly. We really only want folks to be happy. Get ahold of me we’ll make it right. Matt – the chef here.
More than a meal–it’s a food experience!. The prix-fixe meal at the Inn at Langley is a wonderful eating experience that should not be missed. We have stayed at the Inn a number of times over the years, always driven by the availability of a dinner reservation at the adjoining restaurant. After being welcomed, seated, and starting with an aperitif, everyone (i.e. about 10 tables of guests) joins the chef in the open kitchen where he provides a mouth-watering description of (1)what you will eat and (2)where it came from. The locavore meals (which have been that way for many years, if not decades, now) are seasonal, delicious, and fabulously prepared. The service is impeccable, the wine list extraordinary, and the price is, well, high (duh!)–but worth it if you can afford it.
