Seeking a light lunch, my wife and I walked around town checking out our options, finally settling on the Soup Cellar. It is located down a steep set of stairs though there is a notice near the entry indicating an elevator is available. The place itself is on the dumpy side, but you are there for the food, not the ambiance. An exiting diner recommended the white chicken chili which is what we ordered at the counter. It took a bit longer for the soup to be delivered to our table than one would expect, but it was very good as was the accompanying flour tortilla and salsa. Prices are more than reasonable.

The French dip sandwich with fries or salad is yummy. This restaurant is located downstairs and the entrance has a staircase from Main St. The prices are a little high but it’s a tourist town. Also come prepared to wait to sit on a busy day as there isn’t a lot of seating. While you wait you can read all the dollar bills people have signed that are on the walls – there are quite a few.

Food was okay, but not outstanding. Place was casual and prices were reasonable. Staff were all young and forgot one of our orders. When we asked about it, they were polite and admitted they forgot it, bringing out a larger portion of what we had ordered to compensate. The staff seemed distracted, whipping each other with towels and loudly teasing one another or restocking things on other tables while texting. Floor around us was filthy and when we asked for a to-go box, it was dirty with black stuff inside. Not a place I will return to again soon.

Would have loved to try this restaurant however it is in the basement and does not have air conditioning. We were looking forward to and planning for this all day and then had to leave due to the heat.
