Brigitta, our server, steered us in the direction of fresh & fantastic. We both had fish and chips and she told us the salmon and haddock were in season. I would have thought deep frying salmon was a ticket to hell but it was good. Thank you for helping me step out of the box.
Dinner at Doogers. I had sauted scallops with coleslaw and garlic toast and added a cup of clam chowder. I feel the scallops serving was a little skimpy, but otherwise the meal was delicious. The service was good the folks friendly. This may sound silly, but I got ice tea as my drink and it’s the first time I can remember getting a long spoon in years. That is really old school, but very nice. It was really great having a choice of grilled, sauted, poached, fried or blackened. Every other place in town we checked out offered only deep fried. Not appreciated when you are trying to eat healthy.
