Fish and chips and chowder are decent, but the service is lacking, the restaurant is dirty and cluttered, and any other menu items at dinner time aren’t worth ordering. Steak is unseasoned and obviously frozen, crab is mushy and tasted old. We won’t go back.
Bad Food. I got the Seafood Alfredo for lunch on 2/8/2013 and it was awful. The fettuccine noodles were undercooked, the alfredo sauce was lumpy and was obviously not fresh and the Mushrooms looked wrinkled and old. I will Not go back to this place.
Overall was impressed with the halibut had a lighter crispy batter, chowder had good flavor though thinner than I expected, steamer clams were a let down…wine and some fresh herbs would make them taste great over the unseasoned poaching water…overall a little more spice in their offerings would be nice.
Best Seafood Around!. For the first 30+ years of my life, I did not eat seafood, I did not like fish, and I wouldn’t order anything but burgers or steak at a seafood place. Freddy’s changed my mind about that! Beautiful fresh fish, well prepared and at a good price with great service. We have even met Freddy a couple of times. My favorite is there Salmon Caesar Salad (sometimes it is smoked, sometimes it is grilled, either way it is amazing!). Our baby girl, at age 7 months, even loves their clam chowder.If you want great, fresh seafood in the area, there is really only one place you should be going, and that is Freddy’s!
We love freddies chowder! We recently went to the beach expecting to have delicious clam chowder and were very disappointed because it was not anywhere near the quality of Freddie’s. chowder. Needles to say, when we go out to eat in Longview Freddies is our first choice.
New Favorite!. I’ve always gone to Capt N Yobys when I come through town, but this last weekend I stopped by Freddy’s Just for the Halibut and it was AMAZING! The oyster stew is a must and the clam chowder is perfect, not too thick!Can’t wait to go back!
Just awesome. Best halibut fish n chips in town, not to mention the best pan fried oysters, try the oyster and halibut combo! Can easily spend $30 for lunch for two though
