How to lose a customer. I have bought my coffee beans from Guse’s since they opened many years ago. More then twenty years. After today, I will never step foot in their store again. I was treated quite rudely by a clerk that was not even ALIVE when I first started doing business there!! I am saddened that I must spend my money elsewhere. However, Guse’s is not the only option available in Longview anymore!! I am quite sure that I will find at least one that will welcome me as a customer. If not, the internet provides many tax free options with free shipping. Guse, the original owner, always treated all customers like family. I will not shed any tears when this place closes due to lack of business. Marty

Bad Service/Bad Drinks. In all honesty I’m not sure why I keep going here, though I imagine its the proximity to where I live. There’s a mixture of ladies that work there and while one, an elderly gal is friendly and chats, she takes forever to make two espresso drinks. I understand being unfamiliar with new equipment, but fake it, make it seem like you know what you’re doing when you’re the face of a company. While the other girl seems to know what she’s doing a bit more, she’s rude and refuses to give me her full attention when I am a paying customer. As a very experienced barista myself I know very well how to make the drinks I order and while in most circumstances I don’t mind helping a fellow person out it becomes a hassle when you know for a fact the drink you requested isn’t complicated but still have to walk them through it. On a whole I must say that the customer service is very lacking and unprofessional, the drinks have little to no flavor to them other than that of the overpowering espresso and while I understand that some customers would appreciate that, when I am asking and paying for two flavors I’d sincerely hope to be able to taste at least one of them.

How many stars? -5. I know there are days when you’re just off and in the service industry things aren’t always what you intended them to be. Well, this place serves the worst coffee. If I wanted something that bad I would make it at home. I’ve tried this place several times just to make sure that it wasn’t just an off day but they are consistently bad. There is also the matter of service. The server I’ve had each time I’ve been there is surely and rude. It’s like serving me coffee is last on her list of things to do. Right under colonoscopy. So would I recommend this place? Not if you paid me to.

We LOVE this place!!!. We have meet clients here and it is a great place to do so, with free high speed wifi and an awesome atmosphere. We have not found a better Blended Pepermint Mocha around and we always look forward to seeing what specialty candies and treats they will have in. As far as treats go, it is tough to beat the caramels. We saw a lot of great photos and information on the shop at http://www.relylocal.com/longview-washington/business_listings/guse-coffee-roasters they are truly one of Longview Washingtons best kept secrets. Oh I almost forgot to mention they actually rost their own beans and feature a large variety of international flavors. 🙂

Terrible, TERRIBLE service!. I have been a customer at this shop for years! The part-time girl who used to work there, was amazing. She took very little time to make my espresso drinks, knew what she was doing and was ALWAYS polite. This new lady, a much older woman, who I went in to see the other day, was all alone and obviously didn’t even know how to make something as simple as a mocha or an espresso. How the owner could leave this woman alone in the shop is a mystery to me. I used to love this shop. Unless the owner gets in a new person who actually KNOWS what they are doing, I will never, ever be going to this shop again. And I’m going to recommend to all my friends, and all the people I know that they should find another local coffee shop to support.

Homey. Though the shop is small I can honestly say its the most comfortable coffee shop I’ve been into. It’s quiet and a nice place to relax with a quality cup of coffee. The workers are friendly and polite and always see to my needs in a timely manner.I’ve yet to have a bad experience at Guse’s and doubt I ever will.

Awful Service. They have good coffee but horrible service. I was with guests from Portland there to sit and talk and the owners daughter insulted us as we left. Oh well we will never return.
