Terrible Experience – OK Ice Cream. I just got back from the Sub Zero in Longview, WA and it was one of the worst customer service that I have ever experienced from a local restaurant. After spending almost $25 on ice cream for my family, I tried to use a Monarch card that has a coupon. Since the coupon said that I needed to order a large Sensation and I ordered a regular ice cream, they wouldn’t accept it. I suggested that they just charge me for the large Sensation and I’d just accept the smaller item since the price would be better. The people working began talking in a rude tone of voice and told me that they would not do it and I should read the menu. They even began a dialog with another customer over the issue, right in front of me. Honestly, I didn’t know the difference between a Sensation and a regular ice cream. After the argument, I refused my item. Then, one of the people working told me that she is an attorney and I was required to pay for it, even if I chose to not buy it. I said that I didn’t touch it and I don’t want it. Then she told he the cashier, in condescending tone, to give it to me for free, No thank you! I refused my ice cream and just paid for my wife and kids who already began eating theirs. The sad thing is, they lost a future customer with a large family over about $2. The first time you visit Sub Zero, the experience of seeing ice cream being made right in front of you is pretty cool. The next time, it doesn’t amount to much. My kids were not even impressed. Recently, the previous occupants of the building, Cold Stone, went out of business. They were popular until the novelty wore off. Before them, a Pizza Parlor was located in the same building and they went out of business. I will not be surprised when Sub Zero follows the same end game.
