We LOVE Susumu!! We have have been enjoying their delicious food and flame filled dinners for several years. The prices are compatible to other Japanese Steakhouses and you have room to move because you are not packed in so tight like Benihana’s. We went on Friday night with reservations for 20 for a no kids birthday party. And we had such good experience that we went back Saturday night with the kids. Our server was pleasant and quick with the drinks. Our chef(s) we full of corny jokes. And our sushi & dinner delicious. All added up to a great time and fun memory for the family. I would highly recommend Susumu’s.
The food was overpriced with lots of MSG that you can smell it. The waitress didn’t show a warm welcome and never refill our water glasses. I ordered Steak and Calamari, which priced at $26.95, and a third of my cooked food was set a side for the waitress to bring back to kitchen. That portion never made to my to go box. As a new customer, I will never come back.
The worst service ever within the steak house. We quit coming to this place off years ago but went back for a birthday party hopping the new management had straightened it out. Unfortunately it hadn’t happened, the waitress had a attitude when she came up to the table. She didn’t bring the menus, when we asked for the menus she has a wherever attitude. When she was taking the orders she skipped one in the party and when we told her she looked pissed off to take the order. 2 people in the party got fed up and left. due too the other table across from us, that were seated 20 minuets after we were seated. There food was out and cooked before ours even came out. When our food came out They forgot two side items on our order. The hibachi beef is the same beef you would get in a cheep mom & pop teriyaki place with the price of a regular cut of beet. By far the worst 50 bucks we have spent in a long time. If you want a better experience & service go to Kyoto steak house in Everett
Sushi Not Bad. We like to eat at the sushi bar. They bring tea, salad, and miso soup. We did have a waitress who was a bit surly (she brings the soup and salad) but the sushi chef was great. This place doesn’t have much ambience, but it’s worth a try for the sushi.
Worst service and Ownership ever experienced. I will never EVER return to the establishment. I had a gift card for Susumu, good for $25. Before heading in to dinner I called the restaurant to check if the gift card was good for beer & wine as well as food. The employee I spoke with on the phone said that drinks are included, given that the minimum bill total ($45) was met.Upon arrival, I again confirmed that the gift card would be honored, and was then seated. When the bill came, however, the owner/manager came to my table and we were told that they wouldn’t accept the gift card. Her reasoning for not accepting it was that we had ordered 3 beers throughout dinner. After changing their story a few times they only agreed to offer $15 (I paid for a $25) off of the bill. At this point I just wanted to leave despite losing $10. When I was brought my change, the owner had added on an $8 tip, which I DID NOT agree upon or add in myself. When confronted, the owner ignored my questioning and literally just kept walking away from me.All in all, I ended up paying over $40 for a meal that should have cost $21 with the gift certificate.I really hope that the owners of this establishment do not try to screw anyone else out of money. EAT AT YOUR OWN RISK!
Likes it-My whole family loves this place. We often find ourselves there on birthdays or just when we go out with a bunch of friends. You get more food, a better show, for less money than Benihana.02 Sep, 2010My whole family loves this place. You get more food, a better show, for less money than Benihana.
Not the best place for hibachi. The decor was great and service was good but that’s where the praise stops. The food was rather bland and some entrees were not well cooked. For this kind of money there is a better place in Woodinville.
