Good coffee and okay food, but really spotty customer service. Ordered a coffee and a waffle this morning. After waiting 25 mins the barista unapologetically informed me she hadn’t turned the irons on yet. Left hunger and really disappointed. Other baristas have been much better (Joe), but after this experience it will be long while before I return. If ever.
My boyfriend lives around the corner from this place, and it is the best way to start the morning! First of all, the lofted lounge and tiny patio are so cute I could light them on fire. High high quality coffee and the simplest of menus. This place proves that it’s better to do what you can with expertise, than to half ass a huge breakfast. Great coffee, nice environment. I recently stopped by Cortona Cafe while I was in the CD. There was plenty of street parking in the neighborhood surrounding the coffee shop. The barista was friendly and the upstairs area had a good vibe; it seemed like a nice place to sit and study or read. (There’s almost no seating downstairs and the existence of upstairs seating wasn’t well-marked, but trust me, just go up the stairs.) It’s a very cute location.Cortona uses Herkimer coffee, which is excellent. The prices were reasonable in comparison to espresso general, but very good considering the quality of the espresso.
