Best almond croissants in town. Angel Rocha is a baking genius, and a super-nice guy. I feel so fortunate to have Golden Wheat close enough to my house that I can put a coat on over my pajamas early on Saturday mornings, stagger over there in a pre-caffeinated state, and come home with a box full of deliciousness. I’m especially fond of the marionberry danishes, the pecan shortbread that fits perfectly in one’s hand, and the light, buttery, not-too-sweet almond croissants. Everything is perfect except the lattes, which (depending on who’s working) aren’t always quite up to my Seattle coffee snob standards. But the beans are good, so just get a drip and you’re golden. The prices are very reasonable (especially compared to Bakery Nouveau, which I love but always feel a little abused by). Plus Golden Wheat is a family business, and Angel is almost always there with his big welcoming smile. Please support this place so I can continue to get my weekend pastry fix for many years to come.
Delicious and Inexpensive. What a great addition to the neighborhood! Delicious and inexpensive (a rare combo). Super friendly service too :). Simple decor, not fancy, but, very welcoming.
