Hi-Spot is a cute old house they have converted into a restaurant. We called to see if they had a wait on a Sunday morning and they gladly added our name to the wait list while we were on our way. I got the asian-ish tofu veggie scramble with brown rice. It was really good, the vegetables were cooked perfectly, I just thought it could have had a little more flavor and spice. My husband had the juevos rancheros and enjoyed it. He thought it would have been even better with a crunchy tostado on the bottom instead of a soft corn tortilla. They have Mickey pancakes for kids. Overall a very good experience.
I can’t believe I’ve never found this wonderful little cafe before. A perfect latte accompanied my chorizo scramble–which was as good as any I’ve ever eaten. If they were open for dinner I’d come back and get another one!
Surly hostess and slow service spoiled the meal
Friendly staff but bland food.
It’s okay, really. I arrived 15 minutes early and my dining companion arrived 15 minutes late. I was sipping wine, a cold crispy pinot grigio, but my just sitting there seemed to make our waiter nervous for me somehow. I was not on my phone or reading or anything, just sitting. I wondered if just sitting may now be considered suspicious activity. After my dining companion arrived we both ordered the very nutritious delicious salade nicoise and enjoyed some great conversation. I enjoyed seeing the 2 PM breakfast people having eggs with beers. On the way out, a nice man gave us each a lemon scone on the house that was more like a triangle of yummy cake.
Hung over food it is not!!!!!. I had just got into town from a coast to coast flight the night before and did some heavy drinking that night. I came in here about 11am and was wanting something to help cure my aching head. Didn’t happen. The tostadas were plain out, bland. Not good even if I ate sober. Taco Bell has alot more flavor. My buddy had something that I took a bite out of and I didn’t like that either. I will say the staff was good looking and friendly, which is not common for Seattle. Maybe it’s just this neighborhood…Get the coffee and a pastry and that should do.
Quaint House Brunch. Good energy, kind and attentive staff, casual environment for fresh and tasty brunch, all served inside an old house. Staircase from the original home adds to the cutie atmosphere. They offer house-squeezed orange juice. I had the Bengal Benedict, it is eggs benny with a brown curry gravy that reminded me of British curry chip sauce, rather than an Indian curry. Poached eggs were undercooked (runnier than they ought to be…deflated yolk onto my plate). My overall meal experience was good.
