Lunch. This was one of the worse Mexican meal that I ever had in my whole life , sorry but htey have to know the really Mexican food , I don’t care what other people say , but to me I won’t recommend to anyone sorry , has to go back or bring someone who know’s how to cook MEXICAN FOOD

My boyfriend and I decided to try calle tacos for lunch the other day after seeing all their Facebook posts about how good it is. Aside from the atmosphere, the food, quality and service were sub par. I was greeted by the waitress who had a mouth full of food and was sitting at the bar eating her lunch (very unprofessional to say the least). We sat our selves and she brought us the menu. We never caught her name because she didn’t introduce her self or ask if we wanted anything to drink. After having to ask for a drink she responded with what would you like? ( how do I know what to order if I don’t know what they have). Our food arrived in a timely manner but portions were very small and didn’t come with a side of any kind, not even salsa. The tacos were so small they can be eaten in two bites. When we asked for our bill we were handed a cell phone with an attachment to slide our credit card and asked to sign the screen and select either a 15,20, or 25% tip. I did not like the fact that I was not given an option to enter in my own tip amount and the whole cell phone thing seemed weird. I will probably not be back to eat at calle.
I had dinner last night with a friend. It wasn’t busy at all sure to stormy weather. Service was prompt and friendly through out the whole meal. Unfortunately the meal was not as stellar. The #1 paux pas was that the wonderfully presented meal was served on a cold plate. My food was cool within minutes. Each plate came with some shredded lettuce and two of the smallest slivers of tomato. Three lovely hand made tortillas came with my meal. I ate them with the succulent pork, tomato and frijoles. I might have enhanced the flavor with some pico de gallo, but alas there was none. Also, I had finished my totillas and a server came by to check up and she made no offer to bring more tortillas. I was only 1/2 done with my meal. The ingredients of both meals were obviously very fresh. So, it was a surprise to me and my friend at the lack of flavor or depth of our meals. I imbibed in two different margaritas. I enjoyed them. I liked that they were not the cookie cutter sweet slop you get at other establishments. At the end of our meal three servers brought out a free desert with a flaming tortilla in the middle. It was a very sweet gesture as my friend only mentioned my birthday quickly in passing. So all in all 5 for service 3 for food.
Great Food, Awesome Atmosphere. Had the Machaca for lunch, it was excellent. Employees were very friendly and helpful. Service was fast and atmosphere is very inviting. Will definitely be going back.
