Italian Getaway. I live in the area, and have been to Il Granaio a few dozen times since they opened. It’s my favorite restaurant in Skagit Valley. It’s real, it’s excellent value-for-dollar, and I eat here whenever I need to spend some time in Italy. Their pasta dishes are perfect.
I loved the ambience and my fettuccini di mare was the best I’ve ever had. The service was consistently good throughout the evening. I’d come back if we’re in the area again.
Great, attentive, professional front of the house staff, but can’t help but feel like chef Boyardee is whose running the back. Sad. The quality in the food is just not there at all.
This by far is one of my favorite places to go in Skagit Valley. I have never been let down whether it be for drinks and a great appetizer, dinner, or dessert. The atmosphere is friendly and beautiful. The food is amazing! My favorites are Albertos tomato soup, chicken parmesan, cheesecake, blackened salmon Caesar salad, and so on! If you haven’t tried his home made pizza you are missing out. And for a lighter stomach on a budget the sunset menu is perfect! A must go to.
Caro! Our dinners, both Pomodoros, weren’t bad, but they weren’t particularly special, either. Disappointing side salad of iceberg lettuce (the most nutritionally barren of lettuces), that wasn’t even well chopped; a tomato wedge and one cucumber slice (One! Why bother? Maybe it’s supposed to be trendy highfalutin’ nonsense, but with the iceberg lettuce, it just seemed cheap). Garlic bread: not garlicky enough. Very good mushroom soup, however. All in all, overpriced for the quality of the food, but the service was attentive and quick, and the head chef seems like a nice guy. I want to like this place, so another visit may be in order. Then again, Pacioni’s isn’t far away, and they are excellent.
Visited on a quiet Monday evening so the service was great – attentive, friendly & knowledgeable. Yummy home-baked garlic bread with olive oil & vinegar on each table. Mozzarella caprese was ok with tomatoes clearly out of season. Salmon ravioli and manicotti were both delicious. Daughter loved her buttered noodles with Parmesan cheese (and she is very hard to please). Recommended wine was delicious. Desserts disappeared quickly. Ambiance was nice, with cliche Italian-American music (think Sinatra, Dean Martin & Perry Como). I’d come back again for the food.
Terrible service, long wait for food and servers to do anything, food was mediocre. Tried twice to see if there was any improvements, but nothing changed.
