Absolutely fantastic! Prompt, friendly, genuine service combined with extreamly reasonable prices, authentic Mexican food all made from scratch – no frozen, pre-cooked foods at all – enormous amount of food for price, several different salsas for the chips, and EXTREAMLY CLEAN!Wide menu choice, very fast turn around from ordering to table, and was made to feel at home from moment we walked in! We had the Carne Asada which was juicy and wonderfully flavored, served with a wide assortment of sides including beans and rice, and fresh tortillas! We also ordered some burritos to take home with us – which they waited to make until we were almost done with dinner so they’d be freshest – and which husband took to work the next day and LOVED! They were absolutely fantastic! These also came with a bunch of sides as well!We had iced tea to drink, but table next to us had Margaritas which were HUGE and had tequila – see below for why I mention this lol.PLEASE BE ADVISED – There are several Negitive reviews listed here and I HIGHLY SUSPECT they’re from the brother of the man who owns Estabans, as he has restaurant called Agave, and the brothers are in some sort of disagreement. While the price listed in one review is correct – $13.00 for an entree, what it fails to mention is the amount of food you get for that price! So much my husband, who can eat A LOT couldn’t finish it all! Another negitive review said they didnt have Carne Asada – when they absolutely do as that’s what we had for dinner! Yet another says they were served margaritas but that the restaurant didn’t have tequila, another LIE! As for the rest of the negitive comments you can tell they seem written by same person and are so vague that all it serves to do is smear the reputation of this amazing family run establishment! PLEASE IGNORE THESE OBVIOUSLY FAKE NEGITIVE REVIEWS! Estabans was an absolutely amazing restaurant with a wonderful relaxed family atmosphere, very fast friendly service, some of the best tasting authentic Mexican food, with very reasonable prices for the amount of food you’re getting! PLEASE, don’t let those FAKE Negitive reviews keep you from trying Estabans! You’ll be missing out on some of the very best Mexican food available in Oak Harbor, WA!
Probably one of the worse Mexican food I’ve ever had..it was like eating Taco Bell…no carne asada.in the tacos.wth?? I’m from California it was so disappointing…made me sad to.live in this town…Agave is awesome a little pricey like a lot of the places here in Oak Harbor but so worth it you can never go wrong at Agave.
Pleasantly Surprised. Finally, a good mexican restaurant in Oak Harbor. Keep up the good work Estebans!
Poor service, average food. Once again in Oak Harbor, we have a restaurant that goes out of their way NOT to be efficient for their customers. Waited 30 minutes for our food, no drink refills, and had to ask literally 5 times for more chips and salsa before they brought us any, and when they did bring it, they acted like we were inconveniencing them. I would say go to El Cazador. Their food is better, less expensive, and the service is both prompt and friendly. Skip Esteban’s for sure.
Amazing Fajitas!. I am in love with their fajitas! The chicken has the most amazing flavor and their chips and salsa are good too! They have HUGE portions!
Worst & ironically most expensive mexican in town. The food wasn’t terrible, it just wasn’t that great – especially not for the price you pay here compared to other mexican places in town.I’ve found this to be the most expensive mexican place to eat in town. 11.95 for a small combo chimichanga meal? you can go right down the road to either el cazador or mi pueblo and get the same combo for maybe 8.95 max. The chips and salsa and drinks here are not that good either. I think the strawberry daquiri that I ordered was all daquiri mix. Not to mention, this place is cramped. I came with a large group and it made us feel uncomfortable they had our table set up right next to a booth with a family – it’s almost like they were sitting with us, it was weird. Go to el cazador – their chips and salsa and food are excellent, they are cheaper, and there’s a lot more room.
Not bad…. …food was decent, and plentiful. Nothing to write home about. Prices were kinda high though.
