The phots look great. The food looked great. We ordered scallops and grilled broccolini and fish & chips. My plate was full of oil/grease after I finished my scallopd. In fact I got sick afterwards because it was so oily. The fish was slightly better. But the texture of the fish was tough. The fries were under cooked.
Good food, fresh and fast, but the server could use a smile. We had the fisherman’s sampler platter, seafood stew, chicken tenders and a crab dinner.
Really good fried seafood. Not greasy and fresh. My only negative was they do not have a remoulade for the crab cakes. The service was effeficient and friendly.
Boy, I wish my little gal liked seafood because she missed out. These are absolute professionals when it comes to fried seafood. I never, repeat, never say anything is the ‘best ever’ when I review, and it’s taking every bit of effort from me not to after today’s lunch. The filets were perfectly breaded and prepared. You could have put one on a clean sheet of bond paper and there would be only a trace of oil when you removed it. And while the fish was delicious on it’s own, they have a chili-lime tartar sauce that was just insane on it. Wow. The folks in here were very friendly, and we were always checked on for whatever we might need. Someday my little gal may like seafood. Someday….I will bring her back here.
Average food. Terrible service. Waited 4 minutes to get greeted and seated. 15 minutes until the server first came to the table. Got the drink order wrong. Then got the food order wrong. Fixed both promptly and salvaged the second star. Waited long periods for drink refills. Fried fish was merely average despite all their awards. Do not recommend.
Great straight, up American fish house. Seabolts offerings wont win any culinary innovation awards. They offer straight up American fish house fare. Within that genre of food, the execution is outstanding. I normally dont like breaded fish and seafood. Seabolts breading is very light. My crab cakes and seafood stew were delicious. My husbands fish and chips were wonderful. The sweet potato fries were yummy. Our friend is a clam chowder aficionado. He stated his clam chowder was the best hed ever eaten. Our other friend couldnt finish her sampler. But she said everything was tasty. We happily went back to The Coachman Inn to sleep off a food coma.
Overpriced and bad service. The famed chowder was disappointing with more potatoes than clams. Watery and floury tasting a bad excuse for chowder. The mussel broth was watery as well and I would send anyone to Christopher’s in Coupeville to sample the correct preparation for both these items. Small amount if fish in the fish and chips, mostly breading and is lettuce really the thing to skimp on in a salad? Terrible service, they all looked bewildered and overwhelmed. Clearly management is needed in this establishment. This is a poor excuse for a restaurant.
