The food is very delicious. However, it is a bit pricy, I don’t know whether or not is it because most chinese family restaurants are basically pricy. The food here many of them do not come with rice, it is separate order. The server; the staffs are friendly and the place quite homey, but I like it.
Value for your chow mein. Used to come here all the time when I lived in the hood. The food is very tasty, better than the chinese in my new hood (wallingford). We always order vegetable chow mein, mu shoo vegetable (with pancakes), garlic broccoli, and of course egg rolls, the entrees are all around $8. Kung pao tofu ($10) is very good as well.
Ballard Mandarin is the only place in Ballard that I will eat Chinese food. The food is great and reminds me of old school east coast Chinese joints. The folks who run are great too, always a great suggestion when stuck on what to order. Fantastic service and friendly folks.
Excellent Food, Great Service. I love Ballard Mandarin. My only regret is that we don’t get there more often. The staff there is also super friendly and super competent. Good food. Large portions, and very, very willing to accommodate you if you’d like the ingredients or the preparation to be changed to your specifications.I recommend Ballard Mandarin highly!
So-so. I went in hoping to get some Kung pow and sweet n sour chicken but they were unwilling to let me get both combined unless I bought both $9 entrees. Not a great place for just one person to go to.
Great service and good Chinese food. We each ordered the Citron combination. For $12, we got soup, egg roll, and a main course. All was good!
