The Last Straw,This will indeed be the very last time your establishment will get $ from us period. We have FINALLY learned our lesson. Here are the newest brunch details. We have been going to Phinney Market for almost 2 years. It was first recommended to us by a good friend who is employed at a different but highly respected Seattle restaurant. First let me start by saying if it takes more than 3 minutes for you to even greet a guest that is WAY too long. And then after that, you still did not bring water for us to drink until after you took the order. We have now been seated for 12 – 15 minutes. Believe me when i say my wife and i drink a lot of water. So if I have to ask you for it, you are not doing your job as a server. Since our first trip 2 years ago we have watched servers and bartenders come and go while the service continued to spiral downward. The only reason we have continued to go for the past 6 months was because of a server named JOSEPH and I think he is now quit too. The menu changes semi-seasonally, however it does not make up for the absolute inability to time food properly coming out of the kitchen. Cold food happens everyday at this establishment and today was no exception. I am at a total loss as to why it would take over 30 minutes to prepare 2 dishes in a place that is at less than 1/5 of its total capacity. Perhaps they were understaffed? NOT A CHANCE! I would say at the time we were there waiting to get our cold food, there were at least 12+ employees present and a manger. At this time again, there could not have been more than 20 guests in the in the building and 2/3 of them already had their food. So why the long wait for food? We informed the our server ERIN that our eggs and toast was indeed ice cold. Her response was to be CLEARLY annoyed with us. She did resolve the situation but not after making sure we knew that she was more than agitated about this. For the cost of the food, the absolute lack of service, and the stress you get from being at this establishment, I will suggest you give this place a pass. (FOR THE RECORD: I am server. I have been a server/bartender for 20+ years.) I take my job very seriously. When I go out to eat, to spend my hard earned money in the industry that I work in, I have a certain level of expectation and this place gets EPIC FAILURE status. I hope this review helps you avoid trowing your money away. Cheers!

Cute pub on phinney ave. The wait can get a little ridiculous since it’s a small restaurant. Very kid friendly, they even have a kid space. Food always tastes fresh and local. Brunch is a favorite here!

Great place to go where you can have a nice meal but also feel like your kids are welcome. They have a fantastic kids area with a train table that kept our little boy entertained the whole meal. The interior Phinney Market manages to be nice but cozy at the same time and has a very comfortable elegant feel. The only thing I would knock is how long it took to get our food. It wasn’t a huge deal because the kids were entertained but everyone at the table commented on time between ordering and getting our food. The food was all delicious. Simple good comfort food made special. I can’t wait to go back and try their brunch.

2 out of our 7 folks sent their burgers back for more cooking. Pesto Fettucini was….OK. Oddly, most tables were occupied by moms with kids.

Had a nice brunch there. We have a two year old and although she didn’t really use it, we loved that they had a train table and books in one corner of the restaurant. Food was good but my hubby complained that the portions were too small.

Great food, fun atmosphere!. Went here for girl’s night last night. The veggie tart was excellent, but the real winner was the hoisin (sp?) steak skewers! Fabulous and tender, with wonderful green beans and chard, on a bed of french fries. Weird, right? But it worked. A turn on steak frites, I guess. Some friends had things they didn’t care for (i guess their black bean burger needs work) so they are probably stlil working out the menu. But I loved the house sauv blanc and the steak skewers. I’d go again. Try it! Reasonable prices, great food. And a really great staff — made us feel very welcome and cared for.
