Caramelized Bacon, need I say more?. I didn’t know bacon could be improved upon, but Blue Glass managed to do it. They even made Brussel Sprouts taste good to a non-Sprout eater (Sriracha to the rescue!).Plus, the restaurant was a sweet, little romantic spot, though the music from the bar was a bit loud. On warm evenings, they open up the windows toward 65th St, bringing the neighborhood in.

Brunch in Ballard. I’d heard of the Blue Glass and had been meaning to check it out. I went with a friend for brunch and it didn’t disappoint. I had the chicken fried pork cutlet with thyme biscuits and gravy. All I can say is wow. Pork Cutlet aside the biscuits and gravy were some of the best I’ve had in the city. Add the pork and it was sure awesomeness! Not only was this tasty it was super reasonable and huge! Next time I go back I may have to share.

A True Gem. I tried Blue Glass when it first opened and was not impressed with the food. I always like to give restaurants a second try to see if they worked out the kinks. I’ve already been back twice within the same week. The restaurant brought on a new chef that has changed up the menu. We had a great sampling of small plates from Chicken & Cheesy Grits, French Onion Soup, Pork Belly and Brussel Sprouts with Siracha & Honey. All were amazing! The Brussel Sprouts were probably the best brussel sprouts dishes I’ve ever tasted. Great drinks, friendly staff and be sure to make room for dessert. One of the cooks brought over their family recipe of salted caramel cheese cake that will knock your socks off. Amazing!

Great Neighborhood Pub…. If I had read the previous review before I came in I would have paused…my experience was completely different. Pre-made food? Were we at the same place? This is thoughtful and freshly prepared food that my partner and I found delicious. Wonderful caprese salad (like the best I’ve had anywhere, (including Italy), loved the brussel sprouts which can be hard to love, my mac and cheese was so plentiful I couldn’t finish it, and the gnocchi was fresh, light as air, and scrumptious. The drinks were spot on, the pineapple upsidedown cake for dessert..just delicious. There are no pretensions here, just a very cozy/classy environment with damn good food, and good Art too! I’m coming back for more…even though it’s off my beaten track.
