Came here with high expectations. We were greeted at the door and were promptly taken to our table with no wait. Ordered the tableside caesar salad and steak tartare for appetizers, which were both prepared next to the table with a thorough summary of ingredients and their sources. Both were very delicious and obviously contained fresh ingredients. Had the tableside steak, which was also cut right in front of our eyes, and the meat itself was phenomenal, especially paired with the 2009 Malleolus. Finished with what I could easily say one of the best chocolate cake of any kind I’ve ever had, with a very rich dark chocolate taste. Great personnel and great food. Worth the high price.

The atmosphere and ambience is quite nice – it’s a little cozy. If it’s nice out, I would definitely recommend heading to the outdoor deck in the back and sitting out there. I had the dungeness crab cake sliders which were tasty but not anything special. The service was extremely slow, especially considering we were only one of two tables at the time.

Great place!. So glad we stumbled upon this place. We had an early lunch here while exploring the northwest corner of Seattle and were very pleased. We started with the Belgian frites which were amazing. Hubs had the special which was a wild boar and elk bolognese over pasta…where else could you even order something like that? I had the steak trappers salad which was amazing, and even though I like my steak pretty much well done, it was absolutely perfect with amazing flavor and super juicy and tender. A job supremely well done. The bartender/waiter was really fun and nice, which made the experience all the more enjoyable. This place is worth a visit!

Still great! I have to chuckle at all the yuppies outside Dush next door, waiting for hours for food half as good. Go here for brunch!22 Sep, 2011Eat here. Drink here. Be Merry here! Or whoever else you want to be. 🙂 excellent joint, anyway you slice it! Kudos to the kitchen for a great meal!02 Sep, 2011A beer lovers dream, great food, great (if occasionally overrun) staff, cool decor in a hip, casual atmosphere. What more do you want?!? A community-conscious local gem with one of the best brunches you’ve never heard of (till now)! Excellent creative cocktails, too. Don’t miss the steak salad or frites, and try the Harvey’s Coctail!

Good bar food, good service, small and intimate.

Pleasant experience…Nummy Noms!. We went to The Leary Traveler today and, I have to admit, it was a pleasant experience. Word of warning to those of you who don’t like canines in you eatery, they allow dogs.I had the pulled pork sandwich with frites with the curry aioli and my wife had the steak w/ frites and garlic aioli. The flavors were spot on for both dishes. My sandwich had a generous amount of BBQ pulled pork on it, tasty cole slaw (Carolina style) and a healthy helping of deep fried onions on top. the frites were first rate. My wifes’ steak was perfectly cooked with a beautiful demi glace sauce, very tasty and perfectly cooked.Wtih your frites you get your choice of one of four different aiolis: Garlic, Chipotle, Pesto and Curry. The Traveler has, in my opinion, a bit of a limited supply of ale on tap but they do have quite a few bottled beers at decent enough prices. Just one nitpicky thing about our visit. There was only one person waiting tables, he was also the bartender. After he took our order he didn’t come back and ask if things were o.k. or if we needed another ale. He was busy with to many customers for one person to handle easily. One other thing. If you don’t like sitting on bar stool seating you probably wont be too comfortable eating here. High stools and high tables.

Good food. The Trappist steak salad was cooked perfectly and the greens were fresh, crisp and not too loaded up with dressing. I’ve also had the French onion sandwich. A nice interpretation of the soup. The cheese was nice an melted and the onions were sweet and flavorful.
