Just off the main shopping street across from city City Hall with a patio and lots of natural light. The recommended scallops were the best I have ever had with Thai food. They were large and fresh. The other dishes we shared were also good. I like my vegetables to be cut into bite size pieces and this was case. The service we received was excellent.
Service was okay and they were attentive, as I note that others have commented that the service at Banana Leaf can be poor. We went on a Thursday evening in the Fall. The food generally was too sweet (sugar) for me and did not have enough acid (citrus or other) or salt to balance the taste out. My friends commented that the favors were very one dimensional. I concur with this assessment. The twice cooked green bean appetizer is good, though, after all, it is pretty hard to screw up blanched and fried foods. The thing that really struck me was the total tab! Yes, this is touristy Port Townsend but with taxes and tip $120 for a dinner for three! This is a bit excessive for mediocre food.
