CHECK YOUR BILL. Decent food but almost every time I’ve gone they have tried to tack on a few extra dollars to my bill. Don’t be afraid to call them on it because I’m sure they try to get away with this all the time.
Some of the best clam chowder. Some friends said to try Blue Moose Cafe and are we ever glad we tried it for lunch on Friday. That is because their clam chowder is excellent and has no bacon in it so my mother-in-law could eat it since pork gives her a tummy ache. The special was tuna on a bagel with a cup of clam chowder, two of us had that. The third had a burger. We were all very happy and satisfied. Since the chowder was very rich and creamy, a bagel sandwich was enough. Friendly service. The place has no atmosphere, but who cares if the food is good and reasonably priced.
BEST BREAKFAST IN PORT TOWNSEND!. We have lived in Port Townsend for 13 years and, of course, have tried every restaurant for breakfast. The owner and staff work extremely hard, are proverbally friendly and quick, and the food is always CONSISTENT and delicious. Yes, it is tight, but they fit as many customers in as possible. The reason they are successful is that they haven’t built on to accomodate more customers, and gone into debt. To those who don’t like the Blue Moose, STAY AWAY! MORE FOOD FOR US! More room for socializing with friends.
Overrated by the locals. Tables are too close together– it feels claustrophobic. Food is average at best. The servers were overworked, but very friendly. A lot of people must like it because it was busy.
Great homestyle food and service! Cute rustic atmosphere. My fiancee says it has the best corned beef hash he’s ever had. To note: cash or check only, so come prepared.
