Tucked in away from the hustle and bustle of downtown, Khu Larb Thai, is a neat little restaurant with lots of atmosphere. The service here is very friendly and kind, at least when I have visited.The food is good, but in common Port Townsend fashion, prices are higher then they should be. The food can have a wide range of flavors from stir fried vegetables, to rice dishes with BBQ meat, or the classic pad thai. They prepare their food nicely and it has good flavors.Service, as mentioned above is friendly, and they are fairly fast, depending on the traffic inside. It is a small restaurant.If you want to try Thai, you don’t have many options in Port Townsend, but this is worth a try, and one of the better restaurants in town.
Within two blocks there are two excellent Thai restaurants in Port Townsend. Khu Larb is quite beautiful and peaceful. I liked the Kiew Wan rolls that were much more like a Samosa than an egg roll. I also enjoyed the Mussamun Curry which was thick and rich. The service was efficient and they asked if we wanted our appetizers with our entres which was thoughtful since we were dining with a young and impatient guest.
This is an elegant and interesting Thai restaurant in downtown Port Townsend. The place feels very comfortable, with real Thai forks, funky decor and helpful, friendly servers. All three of us enjoyed our meals and will be back.
