I ordered the fish and chips and was thoroughly disappointed. I always find it laughable when local restaurants fail at properly preparing regional dishes. The cod fillets weren’t fillets but were instead small pieces. They were poorly seasoned. You could tell they were frozen by the fact the fish wasn’t flaky but instead but instead mushy. The oddest part was the fish was excessively wet as if they rinsed it before dipping it in the batter. The coleslaw was very one note and also disappointing. Then for desert I had the raspberry cheesecake. I’m pretty sure it’s the same@ thing I buy at Costco. The only reason they’re even getting a 2.0 is the atmosphere was nice and the waitresses were very polite.
Food was decent. However it really left my husband and my stomach upset. The alcohol list was not very extensive. Price too high for the value of the food. But the service was really nice. Wouldn’t go back.
Unfortunately this years visit does not compare to last year. Calamari was tough, perhaps in the freezer too long?? Caesar salad was OK. Maybe next year they will have the old chef back.
It had been years since any of us went to JJs Fish House, so the five of us went. One had the Fried Calamari appetizer, another had the Oriental Chicken Salad and three of us had 2 piece Cod Fish and Chips. We were all very happy with our food and the service. We need to eat here more often.
Melt-in-your-mouth fish and chips. We just had the most awesome fish and chips! Melt-in-your-mouth lightly-battered halibut and slightly crispy fries served alongside a delicious citrus salad (we’re going to try to make this when we get back to L.A!). Terrific service by our gracious and fun server, Ria!
I dined here with my husband and some friends and we all had a great experience. Customer service was outstanding- hard to come by these days! Try the fish and chips and clam chowder…delicious!
