The sushi is fantastic. The Tiger Roll is the best sushi that Ive ever had. The staff is always very nice and polite. We go about once a month, and the servers always remember us and or drink orders, and always sit us in our favorite seats. The roasted duck fried rice – to die for.

Great service. We have been there twice and had excellant service. Always checking on us or getting tea or soda before it was gone. Saw a young lady come out the resturaunt to assist an elderly couple to the car. The walnut shrimp is awesome. Nice big pieces I shrimp. Not like other resturants that just have big breading. The food comes to your table quickly and it’s hot and fresh. It’s wonderful to have a different kind of resturaunt in our area.

Hard to believe it’s in Poulsbo.. We decided to try Taste Wei restaurant in Poulsbo last night. I wasn’t sure what to expect when we arrived because I had heard conflicting reports of whether it was a buffet or not. We were very surprised when we walked in the door. It seemed like we were transported to an upscale restaurant in the city, not just little Poulsbo. It was bright with crystal chandeliers, marble and glass, and very modern dcor. It’s not a buffet at all, just a very nice sit down restaurant. I think the confusion about it being a buffet is that it’s owned by the company who owns a Chinese buffet chain (Kings Wok – I think). There is a full service bar, a sushi bar and regular dining. If you are looking for your basic Chinese take-out, this probably isn’t it. They have taken some of the regular Chinese menu items and given them a bit of a modern flair. My mom and I both had the hot and sour soup – which was complementary. It was good, but a little different from regular hot and sour soup. Mom ordered the Walnut Shrimp ($16). She got probably 2 dozen decent sized shrimp with walnuts and rice, so it was well priced. I ordered the sweet and sour pork loin ($13). It was a LOT of pork, with a few broccoli spears. The pork was not breaded (which I preferred). The broccoli was cold, which I found odd, but I’m pretty sure it was meant to be that way as it seemed right out of the chiller (I’d have preferred it warm, but that’s ok). But the pork was fantastic, very hot and a hefty portion of it, and served with rice. Our waiter was very bubbly and all the staff were extremely nice. Half way through our meal, the power went out due to a storm we were having. The staff promptly delivered candles to each table and the manager went over to each table to ensure everyone was ok. Even though they were hit with a surprise power outage, they were on top of their game and went over the top to take care of their customers. We finished our meal by candlelight (and cell phone light). Our waitress promptly boxed up our leftovers. Thankfully I had cash, but I’m not sure how they handled customers who were planning to pay with a card, since the computers were down. They had people with flashlights lighting up the walkways, entry and even outside to ensure customers got out safely. Great experience and food. We will go again for sure.

It’s the best in Poulsbo. Having moved to the peninsula after living in the city with plenty of options for good Chinese food, we were pleasantly surprised by Taste Wei. The place is new and still working out the kinks, but service was good and the staff was upfront if something was off or would be off during our experience. We ordered what we consider to be Chinese staples — kung pao chicken, hot and sour soup, hot wings — plus a few other items and a sushi roll. I would give them a little more time to get the sushi right (and our server told us as much when we ordered so we were not surprised), but the kung pao was on target. Chicken was a mixture of dark and white and NOT battered (which we prefer). My hubby ordered a dish with oysters with plenty of large oysters that was also not battered — double yes!! While it may not be the best Chinese food we have ever had, it is certainly the best in this area and gives us a viable option when we want takeout or just want to grab a quick meal while out running errands.

Fabulous Food and Service. Just read the negative reviews and was quite surprised, We had a wonderful experience and the dishes we ordered were excellent. The restaurant is beautiful with crystal chandeliers and expensive decor. Although we didn’t order the sushi I saw a tray after it had been prepared and it looked beautiful. This is a new restaurant with new staff and it sometimes takes a while to work out the bugs.We will definitely go back for some more yummy food and great service.

My family and I decided to take my girls out for dinner as a treat for doing good in school. We arrived at about dinner time and the place was messy. Tables that were not cleared and food on the floor. Once seated we all looked at the menu and it all seemed over priced. $18 for fried rice and $24 dollars for steamed fish? Crazy! My mother in law ordered the short ribs and it was the first to arrive. After she tasted the rib she sent them back because they were under cooked. When they came back I tried one. It was horrible! Tasted like beef soaked and boiled in brown gravy with fish sauce. My wife and youngest daughter ordered the noodles with black bean sauce. It had ground beef instead of beef cubes, no vegetables, and poor flavor. Not how it’s supposed to be made. I ordered the house fried rice. It had scallops, shrimp, egg, and other stuff thrown in with tomatoes. It was okay with out the tomatoes and a lot of siriacha. But some of the scallops were cold and flavorless. Last my oldest daughter ordered steamed fish. She did not get her plate until most of us were done eating. It took over 30 minutes to make steamed fish but the beef ribs came out in under 10 minutes. The fish was worse than the ribs. It was just fish that did not taste fresh, boiled in fish sauce. As I sat there in disgust over the meal we just ate I was watching the bus boy clear a table that only two people ate at. It took him almost 15 minutes to clear it and another 10 to set up two place mats. Our bill came to just under a hundred dollars for the worst food and service I’ve ever had. So save your money and go to Kings Wok. I’m not a fan of Kings Wok but would take them over Taste any day of the week. I’m thinking we were fed cat food. That’s the only way I can explain the garbage we ate.

TASTE WEI POUSLBO. Went on Saturday at 4:00 p.m. Three hostesses were at the podium. Not one made eye contact. After 5 minutes, one turned around and greeted me. She said there would be a 15 minute wait. (The place was only ~30% full at this time.) I said, okay. While standing there waiting for a table, I heard dishes being thrown and hitting the door with a LOUD CRASH! This got all of our attention. I stepped over to the door and looked into the kitchen. There were ~ 8-10 guys all in a circle, all yelling at each other in Chinese. They were very ANGRY. We left the restaurant. It’s a shame because man-o-man is it a pretty restaurant. You can tell they spent some $$ decorating. It looks very nice. When I was leaving, I walked out with some folks who said they just ate there and their food was cold. The wife said she sent her meat back twice, and it never was hot. The son said even his soup was cold.
