Turtle Pizza. The husband and I came for lunch on a cold, very rainy day. The restaurant was clean, but very tired and there were towels on the floor to catch a few leaks in the roof. We were seated at a booth by the back door. Needless to say everytime and employee came in or out it was freezing, I don’t think they had heat on, the ceiling fans were going. We weren’t sure what to order, I’ve never seen sliced pizza served with a bag of potato chips before which gave me a giggle. The menu didn’t seem very Italian at all. After chewing on some of the bread sticks which were dense and almost doughie we decided on the turtle pizza. Pesto, fennel sausage, artichoke and sun dried tomatoes…. All reminded me of ingredients from Costco…. It was a bit heavy on the pesto but was otherwise delicious. It looks quite like a turtle shell which saves it from having a non- Italian name. We really expected the restaurant to be a bit more authentic, but will probably try again some day as the food other than the bread was good.

I went here last night with my family. We ordered a marinated mushroom app. Below average. And clams with gluten free pasta. It wasn’t edible so I had them remake me a new dinner so I ordered what my husband did(the steak special) the steak was ok, the green beans tasted like fish and the potatoes were soggy. I was surprised that the waitress didn’t do more to make up for the less than par Italian food. Even my kids pizza wasn’t very tasty. The Pinot Grigio was the only good part of the meal. We are locals but will not be going back.

Our snobby male waiter acted as if he was inconvienced when my wife asked a simple question about ingredients and when she asked for a refill. The main entree menu seemed like a watered down Old Spagetti Factory menu and was heavy on spagetti and fettuccine dishes but lacking any ravioli, tortellini, or gnocchi dishes. I ordered the most authentic Italian dish on the menu, canneloni – it was hot, delicious, and well worth the $10 price. Aside from a table with a dedication to JFK Jr . (he ate at here in 1994 – it must have been the classiest place in Poulsbo at the time) ambience was sorely lacking. From the vinyl tablecloths and paper napkins to the framed Disney and Italian posters on the wall, the view of the harbor across the street was the only romantic contributor to the place.

Nice atmosphere and kind staff, too bad I can’t say too many good things about the food. I ordered a spaghetti dish, which was relatively okay except the spaghetti itself had no flavor and my bowl was just overfilled with ground beef and meatballs. My friend ordered the French Dip on the other hand, saying that he’s had better at Red Robin and the best part of the meal were the chips. Overall, it’s not the best place in the area, but if you’re looking for slightly over-priced, non-authentic Italian food, this restaurant is for you.

Nice – but nothing I’d write home about. We got there just shortly after they opened for lunch at 11:00 before the lunch rush. Rachel was our server, very nice. Food came pretty quicly – both of us ordered pasta dishes. I got the smoked salmon in a cream sauce ($11.00?) – but I’m wishing now that I had chosen to build my own pizza. Pesto sauce, spinach, chicken, tomato and garlic. That probably would have been a better choice for me. Good – but like I said, nothing to rave about. Perhaps if I’d had a sandwich or pizza instead?

I did enjoy my dinner there. The service was excellent and the setting was very nice. The food was good, I just didn’t feel that it was good enough for what I paid

Good view & food. Better like garlic and wine (wide variety at good value).
