I went to The Loft last night for dinner. It was terrible! I ordered soup and the blue cheese with tenderloin salad for my meal. The soup was way too salty and cold. The chef (?) didn’t turn on the soup crocks? The tenderloin was like shoe leather and difficult to chew. I know the chef didn’t know how to cook a steak and probably kept flipping it making it too tough to chew. My companion ordered the soup and salmon salad. The salmon was raw in the middle meaning it was probably cooked on a high heat while still frozen. Her soup was returned for the same reason mine was. Does this restaurant use Sysco for meals? Meaning pre-cooked meals that are microwaved and charged an exorbitant price on the consumer? Please, when serving a salad as an entree’ remove the stinking stems from the leafy greens. A salad should not be all stems and no leafy greens! I doubt I will be back unless they get a chef that knows how to cook.
Terrible. A group of eight with reservations. Half our dishes were served cold. Dinner took two hours. The server was fine and attentive. but to get from one end of our table to the other she had to walk around another table of diners. Later a member of our group spoke to the manager. The manager said our group didn’t understand fine dining. and refused to take responsibility for anything. (The restaurant is listed as casual dining, not fine dining) also the restrooms are tiny and stinky. and to get to the stairs we had to avoid something on the sidewalk that looked suspiciously like vomit.
I visited several times in 2 years. Recent visits the hosting was not good. This evening it was busy and table was noisy and moved to the next table. Server admonishes us for moving to next table. Not friendly.Food was really not good. Fish and chips served in a bucket? The halibut was deep fried to the the point of being uneatable. We had displeased the server and service was poor and we had to go to the front of house to get our check. We also found the table we sat at was not offering happy hour.
We met someone for lunch and were seated on the deck. The deck is great and our server was great. Our food was a bit uneven, but mostly very good. Maybe next time I will try one of their burgers, but this time we had fancier fare.
Went for dinner at The Loft last night. Our waitress was great and the food was delicious. I had the black bean burger. It was spicy but with the pineapple & mango salsa on it, it was just right. The fries were awesome too. My boyfriend had the fish and chips and loved it. The dill sauce that came with it was a little too much for him but I thought it was great with my fries! I also had a Long Island Iced Tea and it was very tasty. I thought the style of the place was very cute too. They use mason jars for the drinks and flower vases for water pitchers. And they left the pitcher on the table for us — very nice touch. They had Christmas bulbs hanging from the ceiling and it was super cute too!
So many Rules you cant enjoy yourself. While the food is good and the servers are very nice. The Rules make it difficult to enjoy your evening. The Manager is very very rude and the owner does not care at all. They are not about customer service in any way. In 1 evening we were passed around from the bartender to 3 different servers and back to bartender. Everytime the staff was very pleasant and apologized that they had to just follow the rules. The location is great but I would never return to it do to all the rules and rude manager and owner. I will never recommend this place to anyone as you can not enjoy yoursef with all the so called rules. Again the staff is pleasant. Just remember you can not pull tables together, You can not go outside if its happy hour, if one person opens your tab you must only order from that person or open and close your tab every time. If you have food you may get service but you will have 3 different people serve you. Very Bad way to run a Restaurant/ Bar. I had beened warned by others but did not listen. Now I know
WORST SERVICE IN KITSAP COUNTY-**Update, this has been fixed The Loft is better now***. ***Here is an update, we went to this place a couple times this summer after pulling into the marina in Poulsbo. What ever they did, they made the LOFT a better experience. The food is good, and the services is much improved. It can still get better, but I felt the improvement should be mentioned.*** The Loft has such a great location. The deck is sweet. The food really isn’t too bad but it’s not good enough to put up with the horrendous service. It’s almost as if the staff is instructed to act like they work in a Belltown night club. I’ve been here a few times…and each time I walk in and grab a seat, it’s taken more than 20 minutes for a wait person to even approach me. Then, another 20 or so to have an order taken….and don’t even ask them to hold the onions, or cook your burger a certain way. They will look at you like you just dissed them on twitter….with their own phone! Yeah, this place needs a make over, new management and some serious help. There are MANY places in Poulsbo that I’ll go to before I go to the loft. No matter how inviting the deck looks.
