I’ve been coming here since 2005 and the food quality has never declined. Excellent breakfast selection and decent lunch menu has always been the norm. Couple that with all the baked goods being made in house which includes the bread, biscuits, scones, etc… It is my humble opinion that Both Ways Cafe makes the best biscuits in town. With all this praise, you’re probably wondering why I didn’t score them higher. While it is true that I will give credit where credit is due, the opposite is also true. The building it occupies is old and not much to look at. The inside of the restaurant is also a bit dated. However, if you like a great meal with a bit of nostalgia, Both Ways is for you.
Met some friends there for lunch around 1pm on a Thursday. Nice comfy seats by the window. 5-7 other people in the cafe made it nice and quiet for book reading had I the time that day. We got menus quick and I got water and ordered a perfectly hot spinach scramble item on the breakfast side of the menu. I think they serve breakfast all day…which is nice for me. That came with a yummy biscuit and butter and jam. Not sure if they have outside seating in the summer, but they might. Paid with a Visa and headed out to a lovely South Seattle day. Oh yeah, plenty of free street parking that day.
