By far the worst restaurant experience of my life. Horrible service was almost surreal…how can a business actually treat a customer this poorly and remain in business is beyond me.
Disappointing Experience; excellent food. We went to La Medusa with high expectations as we’ve heard good things. We arrived at 8:15 for an 8:15 reservation and had to wait about 30 minutes for our table. Then, we ordered some small plates and a pizza (all of which were excellent, by the way), but when we tried to order a pasta course, our server told us that kitchen had closed for the night! My wife and I were pretty disappointed that we were not advised that the kitchen was closing, and given that we had to wait for a table long beyond our reservation time, we were particularly irritated as the delay was not our fault. Never had that happen at a Seattle restaurant before, and left us with a sour taste about La Medusa, despite the good food.
Simply wonderful. We thoroughly enjoyed our dining experience. I recommend the cauliflower dish. It is bursting with sweet and savory flavors thanks to the golden raisins and anchovies and olives that made my taste buds dance. We will be back!
Innovative Comfort Food. I have had three great meals at this restaurant and I love it. The food is creative yet still comforting. On our last visit we had an amazing tomato soup (not creamy, but broth based) with slices of garlic that burst in your mouth. It was topped with a large piece of bruschetta and a fried egg. Our salad had toasted bread crumbs and parmesan with a mild vinaigrette. The blackberry pie was devastatingly good, not too sweet but sweet enough with unsweetened fresh whipped cream on top that added that perfect cold and creamy balance to the pie. The glass of red wine was the kind you want to buy a case of it is so delicious. My least favorite dish was my main, a rigatoni albacore tuna ragu yet it was still very good.
