Fantastic brunch, lunch and dinner. I have been here a ton of thimes and everything keeps getting better and better!! The combination of great service and great food are hard to come by in Seattle and they have it nailed down.
My new favorite breakfast joint in Columbia City. There’s an elegant simplicity to the menu and the aesthetic. At the same time it feels like a neighborhood joint, regulars included, thanks in large part to the hostess/waitress. That and the, well, regulars. Super crispy potatoes which I assume are deep fried. Perfectly covered fresh eggs, which I usually order poached. And good, strong coffee.
Food’s okay, good addition to the aggressively gentrified neighborhood. Comes from a strong lineage of authentic Asian/Polynesian ventures and sister restaurants. As a Pacific Islander I wasn’t too moved by the food but I guess that’s a given considering the surrounding population. Bland but interesting. Beats going to Geraldine’s Counter.
This is more of a sports bar than a restaurant, and the bar dominates the space while little area is given over to proper tables. At a visit for breakfast the service and food were uneven and the front end seemed disorganized, with a long wait despite mostly empty tables and confusing and contradictory messages from the hostess. I had the following: eggs (extremely oily), wheat toast (tasted and looked like stale bread and apparently hadn’t actually been toasted), breakfast potatoes (bland), coffee (strong and delicious), and pineapple cornbread (excellent, with baked-in custard). The coffee was hot but all of the food was barely warm. The enormous TVs were tuned to a sports game and they were so loud that conversation was not possible. Not worth returning, based on the uneven food quality and unpleasant and noisy environment.
