Recommended by a friend to have a lot of gluten free offering. So my daughter and I went for our last meal together before she moves to LA and we loved it. The pulled pork so moist and flavorful, on its own. No BBQ sauce needed. The beans are awesome, the mashed plantains were new to us yet so delicious. We decided to even have desert, as my daughter is also dairy free, Justin recomended tembleque (coconut custard) was heavenly we will definitely be coming back often. Can’t wait to try there lunch menu!! Service was great… It was Sunday night and we had just come in from a hike up poo PPP point. And they let us in haha. 4.5/5 stars from us.
A nice find. We were looking for a place to eat lunch and La Isla popped up in our search. A Puerto Rican restaurant in Redmond, who knew? My wife had the empanada lunch and I had the pernil bowl (pulled pork). Both were quite good. One warning is the empanada lunch is small, it was not enough for my wife who had to get a snack later. Now she knows and will order accordingly. Mine was enough, but it did cost more. We would go again, the food and service were quite good.
A fun and yummy time at La Isla. East Shore Singles met at La Isla for Happy Hour on March 27, 2014, here is a comment I received from one of the 14 attendees:Jan, just to let you know the La Isla was an excellent choice. The food was good; the service outstanding, the prices were reasonable and the place was fairly quiet. I think we should go back there sometime in the future. I may even go there for a regular dining experience. MichaelIt truly was a wonderful experience, Justin took such great care of us, everyoneraved about the food and yes, it wasn’t one of the many restaurants in the area with blaring music so we could carry on a pleasant conversation. Definitely a keeper for this group and I’m sure several will return on their own. Jan
Great food and service! Knowledgeable staff!
Great food, fun place.. The happy hour menu rocks my world: Order the carne frita, batatas frita, bean and rice plate, and La Isla salad & a DRINK special! The wait staff are fun and the mojitos are fantastic. There are even lots of GF/DF options. Oh- and the sopas (soups) del dio are usually a great bet.
Went with my boyfriend at around 8pm on a Wednesday night. We were seated in a cozy booth. We were excited to try the delicious sounding dishes, but after waiting for 15 minutes without anyone even talking to us we had to leave. Perhaps they are just experiencing some growing pains but there was clearly no management present on the floor. It looked like only two people were actually working in the whole place. I really hope I can try them again later with better success. Management get your waitstaff organized!!
