FOOD WAS ALRIGHT.. Took my family there for the 1st time tonight. Beautiful decor, atmosphere was nice, service was very good, pretty clean building, but the food NOT so much. There was someone there making the tortilla’s, very tasty. They put us in a semi dark corner, I couldn’t even read the menu!!The tortilla chips tasted like they were store bought, the salsa’s lacked taste. My kids ordered Taco, hubby ordered Enchiladas Rancheras (He said the food was alright, he’s had better), I ordered Filete de Pescado ala Diabla w/corn tortillas…very salty tasting, spices lacking, the hotness had a little kick, but overall I wasn’t impressedMy husband mentioned that he would go back, but on someone elses dime. And FYI…1 free refill on drinks. They’re NOT worth the spendy price. Though our server was very busy he still had time to check up on us now & then which was the only plus side.
Sorry, but they need to rework their cooking before they can truly say they’ve re-opened. Last night’s dinner was the sorriest Mexican I’ve eaten in years, and nothing like the Isla Bonita I remember from a few years ago. I’ll be back if I see a lot of positive reviews. Inca and Fiesta will remain higher on my list of Mexican favorites.
Some of the best Mexican food in the Tri Cities. Just opened after a year of being in renovation after a fire. Food is still good but the price has gone up again. Their prices are a bit unreasonable and were pretty bad before the closed after the fire. They are even worse now. The food is good but the prices are Definitley up there with some of the so called fine dining places here. You could go to Bonefish or cedars for the same ticket price.
Good & Reliable. I have eaten at Isla Bonita at least 25 times over the years – both lunch and dinner. The food is good and reasonably priced. The menu includes an abundance of selections. I HAVE NEVER RECEIVED BAD SERVICE!
Terrible service and mediocre food. The service was absolutely horrible. I waited for 20 minutes before anyone came to take my order, they never did ask if I wanted anything to drink. They brought me someone else’s order. I sat at the table, glass empty, for another 20 minutes after I finished eating before they finally came to ask if I wanted a box or my check. The food was ok, but not great by any means. I won’t be back.
The service can be a bit slow, but the food is well worth the wait! I usually get the Chimichanga & Chile Rellenos combo and have yet to be let down. 🙂
Good Service and Food. Very nice setting, service and good food
