Huge portions even with the lunch special I got for 6.99 very tasty and great service throughout the visit. Smaller building, so not ideal for huge parties. Played classical music while we ate and gave us a couple tacos to try on the house!
Never Again. I ordered the Teriyaki Stir Fry Vegetables, no meat. What kind of meat? No meat. The person taking my order asked twice and wrote it down, clearly. My order was to go. I should have checked it before I left. But I didn’t. I got home and it had loads of fatty chicken on it. I picked that off and here is what my vegetables consisted of;3 broccoli tops, 5 sliced mushrooms, about the same amount of paper thin sliced carrots, a few green peppers and celery pieces. The rest, which was a lot because it was a large portion, was big pieces of onion, a lot of cabbage (the woody, white ribs that are thick and tough, the core, almost no green or leaf), and get this…over a cup of broccoli stalk pieces. I know the amount because I picked most of them out after tasting them. I’m not talking about the part below the florets. I’m talking about the ‘trunk’ of the broccoli ‘tree’. This was all served on a bed of rice, neither sticky or steamed, just over cooked mush. Very little Teriyaki sauce for flavor. The only flavor from the cabbage and the broccoli stalks was bitter. I have never had a meal before where every aspect was such a complete failure. I don’t understand why they would serve such horrible vegetables when they’re charging $10-$12 for them. I realize carrots, mushrooms and broccoli are more expensive than stir frying garbage, but I’ll never return, so it doesn’t make good business sense after all. I know we are quite spoiled when it comes to food and there are some people who could find this meal acceptable. I’m just saying, be up front on the menu, say it’s the parts of vegetables that would usually be thrown away, and charge a fair price for what you’re serving, like $1.50.
Fresh and Tasty Food. J’s Flaming Grill provides a tasty and satisfying meal. The incredients are fresh and they mix a variety of flavors such that I eat their lunch items at least 4 times a week. The Pud Thai is outstanding and the red curry dish is excellent also. You can get spicy hot if you wish. I have ventured out several times by increasing the spices, but it can be just too hot for me. Others may find the spicy addition just right. The staff is very pleasant also!!
Iron chef of Richland. Egads Dont know what Teriyaki is? obcourse it japanese food you goof ball. You Criticize J’s restaurant because you had to have the cheapiest food there. LOL. It’s okay. I’m not sure if I have room to judge yet, but I’ve been there twice and was a little dissatisfied. The first time I had pork teriyaki and there was hardly any meat, and an excessive amount of rice. The second time, I had chicken yakisoba. Everything was smothered in oil. I think they should only use a little oil and more sauces. (maybe its just me) It didnt really taste like authentic yakisoba. It tasted more like chow mein that you can get at panda express or a grocery store but with more vegetables. The food was okay, but not as good as it should be for the price.I may or may not try it again. It is just convenient for those who work in the hanford area.
Good Food. I have tried 6 different plates now at J’s Asian Flaming Grill. My favorites are the Kung Pao Chicken and the Mandarin Chicken plates. Their vegetables always taste like they are fresh and not frozen out of a bag. The soup is also excellent that comes with the meals. The service is always excellent and everyone is friendly. Look out Woo’s you now have competition.
Finally, something DIFFERENT!. YAAAY! Finally, something in the WTP/PNNL/Hanford office areas that ISN’T CG hurling around the same old slop! When you get down to it, their prices are a bit higher, but their portions are larger too, and the quality is, while not the best Chinese I’ve ever had, pretty good. A refreshing change, and the crowds of vehicles in the parking lot every day seem to agree with me.
