Best train ride and dinning you’ll find in the TriCities and beyond. After growing up in Richland and leaving many years ago, returning only to visit family and friends it has taken me far too long to discover this world class resturaunt. Yes you read that correctly, world class resturaunt! When you clime on board the beautifuly restored train car you are in for a real treat at what I think is a very reasonable price for the quality and presentation of a very fine dinning experance. The atmospher, service, wine are all of a quality I have never found in the TriCities until now. If you have not discovered this resturaunt, it is your loss. The only problem was when the meal was over, the train slowed to a stop and I got off, I was still in Richland. You can’t have everything but Richland does have Monterosso’s, I will dine here every time I’m in town!3/28/2014I had the occasion to return to Monterosso’s last Saturday night with around 37 members of my family and close friends. I could just copy and paste my review from my first dinning experience there because the food, service, wine, atmosphere was as wonderful as it was the first time and then some. 3/27/2014This was the kind of intimate evening one might dream of or wish to have with the closest of the people you love. To be able to share great food, wine and with such a large group of people in such a unique and intimate setting was a dream come true.It was improved upon by the professional staff of great people who work there. They made us feel welcome and very well cared for. To serve that many people timely and gracefully is no easy feat. They could not have done a better job. To the staff of Monterosso’s, Thank you so very much for all you did to make this celebration of my father’s life a memorable and joyful evening that we will always remember.Monterosso’s the best of the best.
While the Pullman car the restaurant is located in provides an interesting and romantic setting, the prices are just too high. The dishes are not on par with the menu prices.
Unique setting in the Tri-Cities. Intimate way to have dinner for date night. Menu has some constants but new dishes are included on occasion. I’m a regular guest.
My dh and I have been twice, probably won’t return. It is difficult to find, dark outside, I tripped over a tree root. The food was mediocre at best, reminded me of food cooked in advance and reheated in the microwave, I can do that at home. For what we got it was expensive and only memorable for what it lacked.
Wonderful!. I have lived in the Tricities for all of my life but just never tried Monterosso’s. Shame on me. We ate there tonight and loved it. The food was fantastic. The staff was friendly and helpful. The ambiance is the best part. It is in a lovely old Pullman dining car. I kept looking around and just thinking…Wow! It doesn’t seem cramped at all. Soft music plays and it is quiet. What a gem! Note: Try the Chicken Venetian. It is sooooo good.
Wonderful Experiance. Me and my fiance went here for our fifth anniversary and it was a wonderful experience. It is a small intimate space with wonderful service. I had the Lasagna and it was great but the side Caesar salad was AMAZING, I’d probably have to get the full salad next time. She had the Chicken Marsala and she is a tough critic, she loved it. She said the sauce was amazing and the chicken was tender.Pricey but definitely worth it for a special occasion.
Great Italian food. Smaller than average serving sizes, but it’s perfect if you don’t like that stuffed filling. Fun experience for special occassions because it is more spendy than the average restaurant.
