Distinct Flavor, Good Portions. This restaurant is easily missed as it is hidden in an Albertsons parking lot behind a McDonalds. You will not see it from the main road, but it appears the restaurant has it’s share of regulars who know about it.Prices are average to good if you buy from the lunch special menu. The lunch specials vary, but seem to be under $6. The menu is quite varied from Yakisoba,to teriyaki, and more. Portions are on the average to large side, and always made steaming hot and fresh. Egg flower soup is complimentary and comes with every meal if you choose to have it. It is made fresh and steaming hot for you to dish up as much as you want. While I admit, I was a bit put off the few times entering and the employee’s were on their phone, they made up for it by quickly putting their phones down. The employee’s were very friendly and kind and went out of their way to make it a terrific experience. The food tastes good and is not overly salty. The teriyaki is tasty and came in good amounts. It is hard to stand out in a world of teriyaki restaurants, but Echigo brings Japanese culture to the forefront with a distinct flavor, good portions, and some unique items on the menu you can’t get at your typical Japanese restaurant. Sauces are not in abundance, and allow you to actually enjoy the flavors of your entree more. It is a safe bet you will enjoy Echigo Teriyaki.
Must try sweet and sour chicken. My husband and I both got the yakisoba which was good, but the star was my sons sweet and sour chicken. We all agreed from now on we are all ordering sweet and sour chicken! Service is great only wish refills on drinks were free and not another dollar.
